Confirmation bias is what I am going to call it. The Chiefs and Mahomes have been the darlings and feel good story of the NFL after winning their second SB in 50 years. Now we have the Bengals and Burrow. The Bengals haven't done anything for a long time and have been really bad which has allowed them to stockpile some very good players. Add in a little bit of unreal play by their star receiver, some timely penalties and a stagnant second half Chiefs offense and you get a game that keeps fans glued to their seats for the entire game.

I was entertained and I was more disappointed that the defense never adjusted by doubling up on Chase. The offense went into a shell for some reason. We will never know if the Chiefs would have gotten those same types of penalties because they weren't trying those types of plays.

I'm frustrated, disappointed and want a target for it.

Besides... You guys (The Chiefs) are still a MASSIVELY TALENTED TEAM who would probably beat the Bengals +50% of the time.
If they played 10 times on a neutral field... I'd say the Chiefs win 6 or 7 times.

Quit you're damn whining... you're still going to the playoffs, and will probably go far.

Shut the hell up, you just happy you are going to the playoffs because the NFL wanted the latest wonder boy of the week to get in.

That's just not true. We only had 3 possessions in the 2nd half. One of those ended with Hill getting knocked down but no illegal contact penalty?? Especially after some of the ticky tack stuff they called on our DBs. Another ended due to an offensive holding call on us. And the last one we took a FG. On the flip side you have 5 or 6 first down penalties given to the Bungholes. Refs, on purpose or not, determined the outcome of this game.

Yup 1000% true, we weren't going to be allowed to win this game.

And now the game at Denver is on Saturday. More proof the league wanted us to lose so week 18 matters to all teams still in it. We may have had a break if the Titans lost before our game. Now we have to play and we need the win for the 2 seed. We got ****ed yesterday plain and simple.

After some more reflection I think having the chiefs as backs against the wall, scrappy underdog suits the NFL narrative. ‘We’ all want to see Mahomes lift the team on his shoulders and carry the small town team to the SB. KC with a bye and home field advantage throughout doesn’t fit that narrative. I’m not sure the NFL is against the chiefs but it seems they only want us to win a certain way. Just my 2 cents

It's entertainment and a highly profitable one at that. Just think how much more money is going to be made with the ability to make bets on every play.

I'm a bit surprised this isn't a thing now. Hell, you can bet on the coin toss.

That's what I said.

Instead of resting Mahomes + starters for week 18...

The NFL now has Mahomes on a national game for Sat afternoon, wild card weekend, and possibly 3 weekends after.

They're not ****ing stupid.

Nobody has ever been able to satisfactorily explain, if the NFL is truly rigged, why teams like the Lions and Browns have never been allowed to go to the Super Bowl, while the Patriots made it 9 times in an 18 year span.

Why would they allow that?
