Why did Miami do this deal?

Yes, most of us don’t care about other teams. But if you do, explain their rationale. It doesn’t make any sense on its face. You never say never in the NFL but does anyone think they can possibly win the division over Buffalo? Does anyone think this makes them better than NE?

1). BetUS moves Miami all the way up to 11th in the AFC, tied with Vegas at +3500 to win the SB. The Chiefs didn’t even budge, going from +800 to +850:
https://www.betus.com.pa/miscellaneo...k&promo=FLURRY

2). Vegas Insider puts them at 17th now to win SB:
https://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/

This means they’re still a few slots away from even getting a WC road game. And they gave up a lot of draft capital and salary for the privilege. If Indy or Arizona or Dallas etc did this deal it makes sense.

Are they just desperate to make a splash?

Nothing wrong with assembling an all star offensive cast, especially while your QB is on a rookie deal. The way the league is nowadays, whose to say we don't have another round of butthurt QBs forcing their way to more preferable situations. Miami may have just solidified themselves as a top choice there. Hill, Waddle, Parker, Gesicki, and Edmunds are a real nice cast of weapons to play with.

My impression is Miami is not much of a sports town. Maybe all the asses and nice weather give people other stuff to care about.

It makes more sense for a contender like Green Bay to mortgage their draft picks for Tyreek. Or any contender.

This is also true. Maybe Rodgers will add them to his preferred destination next season.

They had a ton of draft picks and still have a number of them. They can pair Hill and Waddle together. Further it distracts from the Flores fiasco. Nothing says the Owner no longer paying a coach to lose as paying a Wr 30 million a year.

They have a mediocre/non-franchise caliber QB on that rookie contract though so what’s the point?

Their ceiling is Alex Smiff with Tyreek.

And yes the contract they're paying him doesn't help them.

They've been a Mickey Mouse organization for a long time now.

It sucks losing Tyreek but it's hard to believe Miami won this trade. Maybe other AFC contenders won this trade. But not Miami.

Funny thing is, Vegas doesn’t even think this helped the other AFC teams anyway since our odds are about the same. Some of our posters freaking out how this makes us sooo much worse in 22 should trust Vegas knows more.

would you trade for Lawrence Taylor in the prime of his career? That's a good comparison as far as the way they impact the game.

Tyreek Hill is arguably the most dangerous offensive weapon in the history of the NFL.

Chiefs fans, particularly here on CP, have a jaded view on team building.

We went 50 years between Super Bowl wins and have now found ourselves a premier organization so we're pretty boom or bust.

A franchise like the Dolphins isn't quite as starved as we were and they're also not acclimated to the success that we've enjoyed recently. They don't necessarily need to go out and win a Super Bowl here in the next handful of years, but they do need some consistent playoff success to spark interest in the team again.

And, yeah, put some fans back in the seats. If nothing else, a young QB with Hill and Waddle should be exciting to watch.

I'm pretty sure the only reason they did it was so that Chiefs' fans would scream "the sky is falling" for the next 6 months.

Would you trade Hershal Walker for a butt load of draft picks? That's basically what we did of course not as much draft picks as Dallas got but still you got to look at he is replaceable. It's a lot easier to find a WR than it is a linebacker and it's a LOOOOOT easier than finding a LT that needs extended.

We have opportunity now revamp our D line get a pass rusher and a WR that can turn into a stud. We have the best offensive line in the NFL I'm bosting we have the best offensive line in the NFL and mostly because we got studs from the draft Creed and Trey Smith. Trey Smith likes to bully linebackers.

So there is two ways to look at this. Cry me a river we gave up a star WR that would cost us more than we can afford and not be able extend our LT or do as great in the draft.

Or we can take these draft picks flip our D line get a pass rusher and a WR that will probably catch the ball and not tip it in the air for DBs to catch and make interceptions.
