My oldest Son graduated college last year and asked if he could live with us for 1 year to save money to buy a house. Sure thing. Well, one year is coming up in a couple of months and I wish it wasn’t. We are not only Father and Son, but really good friends. I’ll miss having him around everyday

My youngest is turning 21 this weekend and invited me to come celebrate with him Saturday night. I can assure you, that request NEVER went out to my Father on my 21st I’m looking forward to it, kinda

Point is, it goes by so fast. Enjoy all of it. If your relationship with your kids is solid and the rules are in place when they are young, then it will morph into more of an amazing friendship when they become adults as well. The journey is awesome, so soak it all up!

Wait until the day they actually move out.

My wife and I have had more quality time in the last few months than we've had in probably 20 years.

Is it better? Can't really say that. I miss my daughter a lot of days. But the trade-off is definitely fun.

I mean, I get it if your kids aren't ready. I always told mine to not be stupid and have kids before they're ready because I was not going to raise kids that aren't mine. They all seemed to have listened to that warning. So far, only the oldest has a kid. And he's been settled down with a good job and a wonderful wife for several years now.

I always hated the idea of being a grandpa because it makes me think of old people. But now that I am a grandpa, I absolutely love it. And yeah, we're all getting old.
