In any case, this call out of Everett and doing everything within one's power to say, "Nononono it's not Herbert's fault!" is stupid. It's like how everybody yelled and screamed at Darrell Bevell when Russell Wilson threw the goal line INT in that Patriots Super Bowl.

Don't like the play call? That's fair. But Darrell Bevell didn't call "Russ, throw a pick to Malcolm Butler." He called the play he called.

Herbert still made the decision to throw to Everett. And go along with the no huddle. It's more than partly his fault. He gets at LEAST half of the blame.

It was 100% on Herb and Staley. Both were too blind to see Everett was not able to contribute on that play.
