Is Chiefsplanet seriously going to outlive Twitter?

Twitter isn't going away. The user base is too large and there's really no substitute for what it does among social media. It might be troubled for a time due to Musk's mismanagement, but the demand is always going to be there.

Elon will probably have no choice but to get out and then someone else can quickly reset. Because right now he’s pretty much lighting cash on fire.

probably nothing that contractors can't handle. and since he's taken twitter private, how much cash Twitter burns or doesn't burn is basically his business

... They have been lighting cash on fire since it was created. A workforce that is being treated badly you say... please, some of these folks wouldn't know a 6 hour day, let alone a 12 hour day of work based on their own words... Elon's only hope is to semi-blow it up and see if he can make it more efficient.

Twitter has a lot of issues. I had hoped he could fix some issues because there’s still potential. But you’re giving him way too much credit. It’s not a huge deal that he blew up the staffing. He has no idea what he’s doing and he’s making hugely expensive mistakes and correcting after the fact because he has no idea what he’s doing.

Isn't it funny when people make comments like this? Dude built how many billion dollar empires, is literally running his own private space agency but he's "dumb" because he's doing things people don't like.

I'm a big fan of Elon. But I'm pretty skeptical that this is going to work out. Tesla and SpaceX have the advantage of attracting people who are willing to work 80-100 hours a week because they're doing revolutionary things that can change the world but don't necessarily make a ton of money.

Twitter, on the other hand, built its culture on being a great employer, and I don't really know what grand plan they're building toward that will want people to give up their entire lives and take lower salaries to make it work.

Despite the layoffs you hear about, there are something like 4 million software engineering jobs out there, so there just really aren't significant barriers to people going elsewhere.

So who knows - maybe he'll manage to find enough "hardcore" people to keep it afloat. I'm just not sure what the motivation would be for someone to put themselves through that kind of misery.

He has not built tech and has no experience with content moderation. The guy who owned the platform couldn’t even figure out how to make money and continuously struggled to even make the app work. Google couldn’t figure out how to make a competing technology. just because he’s a genius in one area doesn’t mean he’s a genius in another.
