Wide Receiver snap counts from Sunday against the Jags

As you all know, KC was down a starting WR Sunday and then was without there number 1 WR halfway through the 2nd quarter. Two players benefited most from these shitty circumstances and neither of them were named Skyy Moore.

Skyy Moore had his 2nd lowest percentage of offensive snaps since week 4. In week 7, right before the bye, Moore played in 22% of offensive snaps and this past Sunday against the Jags Moore played in 25% (16) of the offensive snaps.

The two players that benefited the most were Kadarious Toney and Justin Watson.

Toney played in 44% of the offensive snaps, which is a huge increase from the 9% he got his first week with the team.

Watson played in 73% of the snaps against the Jags. That tied him for 2nd with Kelce amongst skill position players. MVS was the only skill position player with more (84%). Watson had never gotten more than 26% of the offensive snaps.

So what will Sunday night against the Chargers look like? We will be without both Hardman and JJSS, so does that make Toney, MVS, and Watson our 3 starting WRs? We pretty much know that MVS is going to get >75% of the snaps on O. Is Watson going to get more snaps than he did last week? I think it's pretty much a guarantee, barring injury, that Toney is over 60% of snaps. Will we see Moore get over 30% of offensive snaps?

Even though Watson played almost 3/4 of the game he only got 1 target. I think maybe he gets a bit exposed with the additional snaps and I'm hoping Moore is able to get some of those snaps from him.

I'm very excited to see what they do with Toney this week. He was in 28 snaps last week and was either targeted or ran it on 25% of those snaps. I think he breaks our this week and has at least 125 yds receiving, 25 rush yds and at least 1 TD.

There is absolutely no chance that Kemp gets Moore's snaps. The most offensive snaps that Kemp has gotten is 14 and has only had double digit snap counts on offense 5 times in 46 games. I'm not concerned whatsoever.

Kemp is absolutely worst case scenario.

Skyy is an odd player. He can cut but doesn't have elite burst, kind of like CEH. He's young so it's hard to tell. George Pickens was obviously the more talented of the two but Skyy is a lot more mature, not a selfish player. I'll always think that's why we picked him.

Reid is very much a 'don't practice on Friday, don't play on Sunday' guy.

If you're not involved in the installs, he's probably not going to play you even if he could.

Meanwhile we turned around and traded for a guy with documented maturity issues at the NFL level?

I sure hope that's not why we went the direction we did. I'll continue to hope the coaching staff saw some level of talent that I didn't see and that hasn't been demonstrated...yet.

Bet on the talent - give talented guys a chance to demonstrate who they are in your organization. There's little sense in writing many of these guys off when you can't speak directly to what led to previous issues. To hear Giants sources tell it, Toney's issues dwarf anything that came out of UGA with Pickens. Yet he's been a model teammate since he got to KC.

Let guys prove it.

Yeah, they officially ruled him out about an hour ago. Hopefully MVS can go.

Not at all surprising.

I could see him breaking his rule for Mahomes and maybe Kelce. But by and large, that one's been pretty much written in stone.

I can't recall a single instance where he played a guy who wasn't able to practice by the end of the week. I recall Chris Jones in the playoff game against Houston being someone that everyone just assumed would play despite missing practices - it was about as clear an example as you'll find.

If Reid's not going to play a superstar defender who's extremely familiar with this system in a playoff game, there ain't many guys he'd be willing to play at any time given these circumstances.

Looking like a healthy dose of 3TE sets coming up.

We've had some pretty great stuff come out of those, so maybe not all bad.

Yeah, they're going to have to use the TE's and RB's.

Any combination of WR's that includes Watson and Moore is...lacking.

They're assuming he'll play because he practiced. But he wasn't a full participant at any time this week. I don't think you can just assume he's going to play.

EDIT: I went a re-read the article and it says MVS will "be available". Nebulous to say the least.

Really not a bad idea.

The Chargers can be had on the ground and 13 personnel is gonna make it difficult for them to contain a really aggressive runner like Pacheco.

May be a Patches breakout game more than a Moore game.

Honestly, I'm still intrigued by these 13 looks w/ Bell back in the lineup. They could really move some bodies around with that group.
