Pats only offensive TD was on a 3rd and 29 hail Mary heave that was tipped in the end zone and ricochet/caught by a wr. This happened directly after the play where Mac Jones dropped the ball which looked like a fumble but the refs called incomplete (very close). The Bengals did not get the bounces/calls to go their way on those for sure. Chase had a terrible game for him. He had a miscommunication that ended up being a pick 6 and then also fumbled the ball to give the Pats life again as Cincy was trying to close out the game. Against the Bucs, 2nd half adjustments by defensive coaching enabled much more pressure on Brady and the Bucs folded. Every team gets bounces and calls to go for and against them during the season. It's how it goes. In week 1, Pittsburgh knocked out Cincy's long snapper with no penalty called (was supposed to be a penalty). That forced Cincy to use a backup TE to long snap on a game winning XP try that ultimately got blocked right up the middle. That blocked XP that would've won the game should have the Bengals @ 12-3 and #2 currently,, but they didn't get that to go their way either. Every team can point to plays/bounces that go either way. |
