Football Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP] - Page 22

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

I'm legitimately surprised by this.

So basically the NFL thinks the PR would be too negative.

If they DO play the game at all, the NFL will give it its own slot and make a spectacle out of it.

And there it is. Given the massive logistical headache that would be rescheduling this game between the end of Week 18 and the playoffs, I'm thinking it just doesn't get played now.

They still haven't announced the kickoff times for the Bills/Faketriots and Bengals/Ravens games.

If I had to guess, the only way they can play this game is this Sunday and giving the rest of the teams the week off and pushing regular season out a week. It’s possible they could cancel week 18 altogether, but I can’t imagine they would do it.

After the amount of attention that the situation is receiving, could you really imagine Cincy going out and putting the hammer down on Buffalo? I think that is a huge ask. I think if it plays out Buffalo would end up winning. Is that what I want to happen? No, not at all. I think prior to the incident on field, Cincy would have won based on the pure momentum of the game. However, I don't see it going that way if they finish this week. I'm not virtue signaling but those two teams came together last night afterwards and any amount of vigor they had thus far is completely lost. It may happen, but it will not be the same football game.

I think all the comparisons to other jobs just don't work because this guy almost died making a routine play. There is no way most people would be able to do their job effectively after watching one of their coworkers almost die doing something routine. Yes there are situations where people have had to go back to work but did they really want to? Of course not. These players don't need these jobs to survive and no business owner is going to take a golden goose like Josh Allen or Burrow and piss them off and hurt their long term business interests. Or put them out there and risk serious injury because their mind is not in the game at all.
