Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]
In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

In a perfect world, it would be played. But we don’t live in a perfect world. We live in a world in which the NFL (Roger Gooddell) makes decisions for what it perceives to be in its own best interest.

Chiefs didn’t kill Hamlin. Chiefs had nothing to do with the incident and they live under Gooddell’s rules just like Cincy and Buffalo. As one of my law professors would say, “This falls under the legal doctrine of ‘tough shit’.”* If the NFL cancels the game or rules it a tie or a Cincy win b/c they were ahead when the game was suspended, that’s the NFL, not KC. KC is not being noble or altruistic by playing the game (literally) by the league rules even if those league rules put KC as the #1 seed for reasons that have nothing to do with how the teams played. You think Buffalo would give us the #1 seed if this happened to Nick Bolton? Hell no they wouldn’t. Nor should they.

* the ‘tough shit’ applies to the fallout from/effects of the change in schedule. I’m not trying to say ‘tough shit’ about Hamlin’s death. That is a tragedy.

HUH? Chiefs had the #1 seed before Bills played....so your saying no team should be handed the #1 seed but thats exactly what your suggesting happens in giving it to the Bills. Doesn't make sense at all

Chiefs 14-3, Buffalo 13-3, Cincy 13-3… if all three teams win this weekend, Chiefs have the most wins, best winning % and should get the 1 seed… all decided on the field.

What’s the problem?

My bad. You are correct and I jumped the gun.

In my defense, I have 3 medical professionals in my family: dad is an emergency radiologist; wife is a charge nurse at an ER; daughter is an ICU nurse. I’ve talked with dad and wife. Neither of them are optimistic about his odds because of the length of CPR. Not saying he is going to die but my wife said, “I do CPR on someone at least 1x a month. When you do CPR for 9 minutes to get a pulse, it usually does not turn out well.” So, I’ll keep praying.

Chiefs lost to both teams. If both teams play their week 18 games and each win, Bills get the one seed, Bengals get the two and Chiefs get the three. Seems fair to me….
Should be irrelevant what the Chiefs do against the Raiders if the Bills and Bengals game cannot be rescheduled.

Seems the bills forfeiting the Bengals game would go the furthest to making this all about Demar. Then make your decision about Sunday ASAP as well. Remove all this distraction about scheduling and take the focus back to his recovery.

? Where did I say give it to the Bills? I said IF Buffalo were to beat NE and Cincinnati. In that situation KC and Buffalo would be 14-3 and since Buffalo holds the tie breaker they would get the #1 seed. I also said that it has to be decided on the field. This means Buffalo gets it by virtue of record and if not KC gets it because of record. No forfeits, no win % or anything. No difference than it was 24 hours ago.
