Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

Now that the real season has started and the 16-game preseason is over, the Broncos have a real shot at this.

That's honestly kind of sad to see. Don't get me wrong - I want the Chiefs to win it all every year. But I personally view the Bills and Bengals as worth adversaries rather than hated rivals (with a slight preference for the Bills since the Bengals ruined our fun last year). Hopefully Hamlin is OK and the team (and fans) can get their mojo back.

(You do have to admit that this would be a hell of a storyline in the commemorative DVD...)

Their best game the last few weeks came against the best team they played in that span, and the only playoff caliber one.

Yes, the Chiefs play down to their competition, especially this year.

That doesn't change the fact that they can beat anybody and are still a stop 3-4 team.

Buffalo can beat any team in football. That's all that matters. The question is what direction the injury sends their motivation

Same with FanDuel. Interestingly, for FanDuel DFS, they cancelled out all Bills and Bengals players and paid out contests already. I was having to hold off a couple guys for 6th place in a kickers lineup and I did so due to this. Turned $3 into $100. Obviously, I wish it was under different circumstances that I won, but still, pretty cool.

I fully understand that a lot of you will disagree with me on that. Ultimately I want them to play the game even if it means an extra week to the season. But if that’s not in the cards for any number of reasons, then I’ll honestly enjoy the playoffs less if we’re able to get the 1 seed by virtue of the ‘no contest’ ruling. I know you guys will claim to not care, but if we end up winning a SB, we’re going to hear about that forever with an asterisk.

I’d rather leave up the 1 seed to a coin flip and then let the chips fall where they may. That way people can shut the **** up once and for all and we won’t have to litigate this for years on end.
One team was winning, and one team was losing at the time of the injury. The winning team even had the ball. There is no way it should come down to a coin flip. If the game was tied, I would listen to the argument - a little.

Buck it up, dudes.

We've had our biggest star die while active (Derrick Thomas), a second-year pro bowl running back die while active (Joe Delaney), a rookie of the year die (Mack Lee Hill), a player die from an on-field injury (Stone Johnson), and a running back retire due to heart attack at age 27 (Theotis Brown). Then there was that murder-suicide thing with our linebacker in the parking lot. But did we give up? Noooooo. We kept bumbling along until we saw a star in the skies over Texas Tech.

You actually felt good about that Bengals game? They got beaten despite the Bengals leaving double digit points on the field with uncharacteristic drops.

This gets very little mention, even here. That might be the most impressive win of the season for any team, due to the opponent and the beating. Dallas whopped the Vikings worse, but I don't think the Vikings are that good and nobody else (outside of their fans probably) disagrees.

Butker missed FG? Kelce fumble? You can say every team that loses left points on the field. The Chiefs are playing most everyone close the last couple months and beating most of those teams. That's the NFL. Are the Chiefs some juggernaut that are a lock to win the SB? No. Are they one of 4-5 teams with a realistic shot to win it? Absolutely.
