Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

Breaking News: Of course the game is secondary to #DamarHamlin’s health, but #Bills insider @viccarucci just reported on @wgrz Daybreak that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will make the call on rescheduling the Bills/Bengals game and it would have to be played within 2 days.

After speaking with both teams and NFLPA leadership, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed the clubs today that the Bills-Bengals game will not be resumed this week.

The NFL has made no decision regarding the possible resumption of the game at a later date.

Has there been anything official on that though? I saw some random quotes from players that it would be tough and that football isn't on their mind, but nothing that says the Bills as a team/organization won't play the game.

And again, there's no consequence tied to that choice, either... nobody (from my understanding) is saying "play, or else this happens".

I totally agree that having some kind of outcome to that game is the simplest and best idea out there, but it's no more fair/unfair than any other solution if the teams were clueless on the repercussions of postponing that night.

More and more it seems like the NFL really did botch this.

Nothing new, but a summary.

The NFL is being absolutely reeruned about this. It's so simple. Play the ****ing game.

I look at it this way: Just because a guy had something very unfortunate happen doesn't mean everyone else at work gets to take a couple of weeks off.

The sawmill keeps on going even if a guy chops his hand off.
The police go out and do their jobs even if a fellow officer gets shot
The iron workers keep building the skyscraper even if a guy falls to his death.

I wholeheartedly feel bad for Damar Hamlin. What happened sucks. The entire league shouldn't turn into a gaping vagina over it though.

Wouldn't the Chiefs have the most to lose if that game is played? As it stands we have the higher win percentage. If the Bills played the game and won, win percentage would be equal and it would move on to tiebreakers I believe they hold over us.

Although it’s doubtful Andy Reid would have chosen it, had Buffalo won on Monday, we were guaranteed at the least the 2 seed and probably had very little chance of having NE win in Buffalo and getting the 1 seed. He could have chosen to rest the starters this weekend like he has often done in these circumstances and used this week as the bye week. With the NFL dragging their feet and the Bills in no hurry to do the honorable thing in forfeiting the game or finishing the game, no we are having to put our starters out there again this week.

Florio reported today that the players STILL don't want to play the game.

The NFL likely preferred the game played this week, but wanted to defer to the players.

The game wasn't played this week.

Idea the NFL is discussing with teams/has real traction: Seeding by win percentage, with the AFC title game at neutral site, if seeding b/w the two teams was affected by Bills/Bengals cancellation.

Indy floated as one potential site to clubs (NFL hasn't talked to Colts yet).
