Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

Yes, Bengals are complaining about the proposal that depends on them losing a game that 538 says is 82 % chance to win for Bengals. They then have a 50/50 to win coin flip. And, would be favored to win if game were at Baltimore and no change in injury situation.

Hell, if Bengals somehow lose to Ravens, the coin flip would have to wait to see if Chargers beat Broncos in Denver. 538 has Denver with 35 % chance of win, and Denver played hard last week at Arrowhead.

Bengals should be complaining that divisional between them and Bills is not neutral site. if both win week 18.

If Chiefs and Bills lose and Bengals win this weekend, and AFC Championship is Chiefs v. Bengals at neutral site, then Bengals will have lower winning percentage than Chiefs and get benefit from rule change as to venue.

Bengals should prefer neutral venue in that scenario and it would not be unfair to Chiefs since Bengals beat Chiefs this season and had good shot of beating Bills if game had been fully played.

Nothing that I have heard/read except the same speculations as many here have had.

My speculation is that they (Cincy) wanted to resume the game at a later date ((Tue/Wed/Thur), but no official word from the NFL if possible or the logistics of it. No idea.

I think you may be right though, Zac Taylor may not have asked enough questions and clarity about the ramifications of agreeing to postpone the game and it could have cost them. He's probably learned a harsh lesson there.

It's terrible that a team/coach would have to be that way in such an awful situation which could potentially put the perception on him about being uncaring/unhuman/whatever. But, Taylor doing the right thing at the time (which I agree with) cost the team big-time.

The NFL really needs to step up and have very clear protocols that must be abided to for future situations should they arise, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

2021 change OT rules to accommodate teams getting possessions.
2022 change playoff ramifications/seedings/game sites to accommodate cancelled games.

Geez

Ridiculous.
