Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

I'm not sure what to think of the whole situation.

My initial reaction is that the Bills and Bengals both decided they weren't going to finish the game. It's a no contest, so KC is the one seed and they should go by the established rules. Also if this game would have been within the 1st 13/14 games that we wouldn't be having this neutral site stuff.

On the other hand if the Bills, Bengals, and Chiefs all win this week and then the Bills meet us in the AFCCG, then the Bills would have went 10 straight weeks of not losing a game and beat us head to head in the regular season. They'd only be not playing at home in the championship game because one of their players died and was resuscitated. They'd have done everything they should have to have the 1 seed, besides beat the Bengals and maybe they would have.

I think I lean towards being fine with the neutral site game because the Bills did everything they reasonably could have to get to that point and the big kicker is that they beat us head to head earlier in the season. I will not however listen to any bullshit about the Chiefs getting lucky or not deserving it.

Hell there's a decent chance none of this matters and KC is playing at home for the AFCCG.

At this point, everyone just has to let it go and accept what the NFL has decided upon.

Yeah it is simple, Chiefs caught a break that gives them a chance to jump the Bills with a win against Raiders after going into week 18 needing a Bills loss or tie to get the #1 seed.

I am able to understand that the Chiefs caught a break.

Is today take your kindergartner to college day?

The Chiefs Raiders game starts tomorrow afternoon. If Bengals beat Bills, the Chiefs would know a win would "earn" them the #1 seed no matter the results on Sunday.

And Chiefs would know a loss to Raiders risks them being the #3 seed playing Divisional round in Buffalo unless the #7 seed beats Bills in wildcard.

If the Bengals won, a loss to the Raiders could leave the Chiefs as #3 seed if Bills and Bengals win on week 18.

So your previous post claiming that the Chiefs caught a “break” from the Cincy/Buffalo game not being played was not exactly accurate since one of the outcomes from the completion of the Cincy/Buffalo game… a Cincy win… would have given the Chiefs an opportunity to win the #1 seed (and not a compromised version without home field advantage throughout the playoffs),

If we win tomorrow it's ****ing bullshit if we have to play at a neutral place ****ing bullshit!

Now I would suggest to the NFL that the most neutral place to play would be at Houston Texans Stadium. I would be OK with that but ****ing bullshit to make up rules to fit a narrative.

Life will go on and so will NFL football. But what is CP, for if you can't rant?

The league set a bad precedent with their CalvinBall decision to ignore their rules and go with feel good decision making.

It's just a bad precedent.

This is in no way the same as changing the OT rules in the off season. This is much worse.

KC didn't come out as bad as Cincy*, but thinking the rules mean something...

Nah, you just start a PR lobbying campaign... Maybe take a few pages out of the FIFA playbook...

It just wasn't fair, that team took out our starting QB on such an illegal hit, you have to change the rules and let us into the playoffs...

*. Assuming Cincy would have been willing to finish the game on Wednesday
