Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

Breaking News: Of course the game is secondary to #DamarHamlin’s health, but #Bills insider @viccarucci just reported on @wgrz Daybreak that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will make the call on rescheduling the Bills/Bengals game and it would have to be played within 2 days.

After speaking with both teams and NFLPA leadership, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed the clubs today that the Bills-Bengals game will not be resumed this week.

The NFL has made no decision regarding the possible resumption of the game at a later date.

I think the Bengals will beat the Bills no matter where they play. Bills pass rusher is finished and they’ve lost too much in the secondary. Not to mention that Tre’Davious White looks awful.

Dude, again... Not saying that night, but there is no reason there wasn't an effort to resume the game once he was stabilized and improving, which according to the Dr's press conference, he was improving hourly. The Bengals agreed because they thought the written rules would be followed, they weren't. You're team, after Damar was improving and alive are the ones who chose not to play. Don't say it was the NFL, because if Josh Allen and the Bills came out and said, " Damar is stabilized and we know it won't be easy, but we want to continue to our ultimate goal of bringing a Superbowl Trophy back to Damar and Buffalo", they would have played, period. They didn't and I believe it was because of the Bengals and being down 2 dbacks and possibly losing the 2seed. Again, it my opinion if they were up 21-3 or playing a lesser team they would have did so, again, with Damar stable and improving hourly.

Yes I am aware that the argument will be that the Bills game broke the camels back. But did it? After the Bills game so many in the media, and fans alike, were feeling so sorry for the Bills.

Yet when the Chiefs lost to the Patriots I don't remember much sympathy at all. That game was also an amazing game, perhaps an all-timer itself. Do you disagree that the sympathy for KC was equal to Buffalos? I stuck my head in the sand after that game so it's possible I missed it. For the Bills, it's obviously not "when the Chiefs benefit", it's "now we care because the rules ****ed us".... I mean, do you think the Chiefs would want a rule change in 2018 had they won the toss and won? It's the same damn thing... teams care a whole lot more when it actually impacts them.

There was plenty of coverage about it after the Chiefs game, too (I posted ~10 articles earlier).... a ton of people hated the Patriots at the time and called out the rule due to that alone.

Also, you can call east coast bias, NFL wanted the Patriots to win anyway... AND not be about the Chiefs and screwing the Chiefs.

If we would have been one of our players and 2 days later you see the timeline and that he was defib'd once and given CPR quickly and you see that the odds of him surviving and thriving were quite high from the time he was revived, I would be pissed that our team didn't want to play and finish the game, and if they didn't the rules should have been followed. Again, if resuscitation wasn't successful and he died, that's a different story. They proceeded like he had died and had no chance, which just wasn't the case with the info the timeline that has now been shared.

Yeah my issue at the time was just that I don't understand the sympathy for the Bills when the Chiefs themselves tried to fix it and they weren't supported. I was, as SNR said, partially motivated by that tweet that I thought meant the Bills voted against it.

All I know is the rule was a joke and should have always been both teams get the ball. I along with many have felt that way for a while.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind sudden death if the home team got the ball first in OT... you earned HFA, so just give it to the home team.

Defenses are so helpless against some of these offenses though, it makes sense to guarantee at least one possession each.
