Yes. And Brown knows this. So he can play hardball and make KC mortgage their salary cap to extend him….

BV proved last year with Hill that he will not let one player hold the team hostage financially.

He says the correct things. Had an outstanding Superbowl.
But still needs to benefit both sides for a contract. 1. He signs a fair deal with both. 2. He plays on the tag 3. He holds out and we trade him where he wants 4. He holds out and other teams see he just wants money and we trade him for whatever we can get. |

Brown and Hill are not even close to the same. Hill was elite and viewed as one of the best WRs in the league. Brown is an above average LT. You can replace Hill easier because there are multiple WRs that can and will play. We only have one solid LT at this point. You can’t plug and play his position and expect equal results from lesser talent.

They could pay Orlando $24M per year and it would still be $6M per year less than Tyreek. That’s a 20-25% gap between them. I don’t think receivers are that dang important compared to OL, especially LT. |

Receivers are overpaid if you have Mahomes. If you have Tua you need elite WRs if you're going to have a hope to make noise in the playoffs.

This is why I think KC keeps Brown if they don't believe a LT his caliber or better is available via FA or when KC picks. They won't mortgage the farm for any LT.

If he comes in demanding a boatload of guaranteed money again, Veach will definitely trade him.
I feel like they'll come to terms but its definitely not a guarantee. The real question is his value on the market. Is it a 1st or a 2nd round pick? I'd have to think like most and say 2nd but a high 2nd. If that's the case, Tennesee might make sense to send OBJ + #31 for #11. Otherwise, you might get Pittsburgh's pick from Chicago at #32. |

One thing I didn't realize, unless I heard it wrong, is that tags are cumulative even if a player moves to another team. So if the Vikings tag Cousins, it would be a 3rd tag.
That seems like one reason OBJ might not totally hate the 2nd tag. Get it out of the way now then teams can never do it to him again. But probably not. |
