I wasn't a OBJ fan but this is the type of money that we would have been happy to sign him to the past year +. Bengals won because he and his agent have no idea what they're doing and Veach probably got tired of dealing with them.

Objectively this is a really nice get for Cincy. He's a clear upgrade for them on a middle class LT price tag.

If my choices are Taylor for $20 million or Brown for $16, I'm taking Taylor every single time without question.

We know what Brown is, and he hinders this offense big time. Taylor has a higher ceiling and is a drastically better fit here. This all worked out for the best.

Burrow is going to get destroyed. Keep in mind Brown has only ever played LT (or RT for that matter) for Jackson and Mahomes, two of the most athletic and mobile QBs in history. It's going to be really bad for them.

If the Bengals signed Taylor for 20 mil and the Chiefs resigned Brown for 16 mil you wouldn't be saying this and the board would be laughing at the Bengals for paying Taylor so much

I don't get it. If the reports are true that he turned down 6/$123M last year, then how does he sign so quickly for $16M/ year in free agency? Surely the reports last year were wrong and the Chiefs never offered close to that, right? And if OBJ could only get $16M per year, I feel like Veach has to have overpaid for Taylor at $20M per year. He's always played right tackle. I don't see what he's done to be paid elite LT money. Elite RT money, sure. But that's more what OBJ got that what he got.

Yup.

Again - first guy to build the Taylor bandwagon and yes I absolutely believe he can be a premier pass blocking LT.

But if the situation were reversed there's no question how this would be viewed.

(But watch Taylor's feet and you'll feel a little better. Man he has nice balance. Those little steps he takes to keep himself centered and remain 'athletic' are so very nice; he might be a damn good one...)

Nope, I didn't want OBJ back for any number. I was never a fan of the trade and never a fan of him.

I do think we slightly overpaid for Taylor, but when you're dealing with Rosenhaus that's usually going to be the case. If he turns into a top 10 LT like I expect him to (which Brown is not as his market just proved) then the deal will end up being a bargain.
