Unexpected things happening, call it

Taken from the other thread, mocks always end up being pretty far off and a few teams do things out of left field.

Lets call some shots here of things that will happen that are unexpected.

I'll start, Keion White goes in the 1st round, I think it could be as early as 15 to Green Bay.

I do kinda wonder if Leonard Floyd can play with his hand in the dirt as a situational edge rusher.

He's been one of the more consistent pass rush specialists around for a few years now. But he'd done it almost entirely from a 3-4, IIRC.

Is Robert Quinn really toast? Because I'm not convinced there's not a little more football to squeeze out of him there.

I'd be fine with just about any of them, assuming they can do what Spags needs them to do.

I think the fear for teams is they'll draft a QB really high and it's Trubisky 2.0.

If you miss and the QB down the list turns out to be "the guy" you're screwed and shown to be an idiot.

The Raiders to draft a huge black guy in the first round who can run sub 4.5 in X position but can't play football.

We are in the middle of a dynasty. The draft is in Kansas City. Kansas City is currently the center of the football universe. I sincerely want to see Veach take a damn homerun swing in the first round and shove the rest of the leagues nose in our success. Let those hometown fans go crazy. Whether thats trading into the top 15 or a draft night trade for an established stud I hope they make this a draft to remember.

Rubbing the league's nose in our success could be taking a really good player at 31 and then finding a bunch of starters in rounds 2-7. That's precisely what we did last year and it was awesome.

Of course. I trust Veach. All things equal I think its a platform to make a huge splash and build momentum for the season. If Veach stands at 31 and makes a "boring" pick he of course knows best and Ill trust the process.

I guess I don't understand the momentum argument. A great pick at 31 (along with killing the rest of the draft) would seemingly provide whatever "momentum" one could want. What am I missing here?

I stand corrected, my post should have said...

We DON'T trade up in the first to early 20's and draft an OT or Edge that falls...

That's how much I expect it to happen and will be shocked if we stay at 31.

But I'd seriously consider it. I'm about the least of a Kyler guy as you can be.
I like this and think it might be their best move depending on what they get back. I really don't think they'd get a ton.

Ha you are thinking too much into it. I personally would just like to see some major action on our end opening night and to see the crowd get fired up. Seems like youd prefer to stay put. I respect that. The draft is entertaining. Id be more entertained if we made a big splash.

You seem to be of the opinion if we make a huge trade opening night the rest of the draft cant be a success. Impossible to tell until year/s down the road.
