Who’s had a colonoscopy?

Had my first the other day. All in all, not bad whatsoever. The buildup was much worse than the procedure itself. Glad it’s done for 5-10 years.

Since I had my colonoscopy two days ago, I'm having a hard time peeing. Even with a full bladder I have to push really hard and the flow keeps stopping. A Google search suggests that it's fine as long as I can get eventually get it out. Anybody experienced this? Any tips or tricks? If your suggestion is dipping my dick in antifreeze, should I use Dex-Cool or?

Just have your wife reach in and put everything back where it belongs, items may have shifted mid-scopy.

That's what I did. They said we will do such and such. Then, after that we will give you the whatever to make you go to sleep. I must have gone to sleep when they were doing the first part because I don't anything beyond that conversation. Just woke up being wheeled out of the room and back into the presurgery (or whatever they called it) room.

Stopped at this local place that makes great burgers. Probably the best burger I've had in years.

Anecdotally, my mother had multiple cancer related surgeries and in her early 80's slipped into a state where she couldn't recognize anyone around her.
What evidence?
I have family history of Alzheimer's on my mom's side. So, that does concern me some. I think genetics is probably the biggest factor.

Is it diet?

What is causing people to have to have their ass scooped every few years?

Do other countries have this same issue?

These are questions I just find interesting. I'll try and educate myself with a google search. I'll be 45 soon enough so figure I should know.

Yes, and no. Polyps grow incredibly slow. (for the most part) To prevent them with diet you need to have been eating fiber consistently basically starting in your twenties. Of course that fact is based off the average, I am sure some people are genetically gifted, and they could start eating more fiber after their first coloscopy and somehow don't have polyps on their 2nd colonoscopy.

Southern Asian countries have the lowest polyp formation numbers. Their diets contain the most fiber.

I think in the past these tests didn't exist and people died younger when bad things happened. Of course, bad diets today probably make problems more likely to occur, too.

Mission success. Went with a giant breakfast burrito and chips and queso in lieu of a morning hamburger.

Thankfully, I at least get 5 years before the next one (no polyps this time).

Time for a nap.

Speaking from experience...a colonoscopy is a walk in the park compared to a kidney stone....

Great to hear! While you're tired, if you want to just let me into the mod lounge I'll take over your duties for the time being. So you can get some rest. Nothing selfish here.
