They're clearly close enough that the Chiefs probably agree more with Jones on his worth than they do with CP. Which isn't surprising, but these things get wonky.

It will always be a players right to hold out. There is zero the league can do as Jones is costing himself money by holding out.

Players know the tv money is about to explode. They're using the leverage they have. It makes people uncomfortable, that's the point of it.

The league has already ripped away most of the tools a player has in his bag via holdout.

The non-waivable fines for guys off their rookie deals.

Franchise tag rules, franchise tag value being affected by player salary.

The way a contract year is treated if a player doesn't report in time.

Giving the team discretion on when it activates and when it begins paying a player who didn't report within five days of cutdown day.

Letting a team subtract a player on the Did Not Report list from the player's salary cap.

The only other thing I can think of that the league could do to swing it more in the court of the teams would be to not count a franchise tagged player's salary towards the salary cap until the player signs the tag.

I love mahomes’ contract. I don’t think that’s the roadblock. The problem was that we had a few years with an unprecedented amount of superstar QBs “playing for free.” So teams were throwing way too much cash at position players.

This offseason you’re seeing way more restraint. And not a coincidence it’s a year where guys like Herbert, hurts and hell even guys like Daniel jones now have to get paid. It’s why guys like DHop stayed on the market for a million years. It’s why every rb is holding out. Teams are resetting the market because QBs are taking up way more payroll. Chris jones’ agent is playing by old rules. If he was on the market a year or 2 ago, maybe, but this year he’d be harder pressed to find anyone who’d give him Aaron Donald money. Because Donald was paid at a very different time from a team who was desperate to win ASAP.

Yeah, the number is high. He's on a HOF all time edge start to his career. It is what it is.
They also have alot big money players except at QB. But if Purdy continues to excel he will want to be paid.

If these dudes are willing to give up cash like they apparently are, I don't know what else the league can do.

I think some of those drop off in a year or two, but yeah, they're not exactly frugal.

I would imagine they'd jettison Kittle or whoever to keep Bosa.

Yup, it’s not just us. Mike evans, saquon, every rb on the planet. Hell, it’s shocking burrow and tee haven’t held out except that I think they know they’re desperate to win now.

The Panthers had multiple first round picks on the table for Brian Burns, didn't trade him, now haven't signed him.

I don't understand that one.

10 title games. 2 rings. Grab a tissue. Cry it out. Andy without Patrick Mahomes never got it done. Philly couldn't wait to get rid of him and a good portion of this board never wanted him, so act as if Andy was some legend before 15 all you like. The facts show otherwise.

As for your bet, again, there's no point. I average less than 1 post per day over a 19 year membership. I read much, much more than I post.

And as I said, why would I rob myself of a month of your hilarious posts? People need a good laugh. You shoukd actually post more.

I've already called my shot here. 5 tds and 2fgs, 41-20 or 38-20 if Butker shanks one.

I think that covers your spread that you value so much, and should certainly count as a win in Megatron's book requiring double digit margins to qualify as actual wins.

Fir someone so confident we will win, using phrases like dramatic win, and "if we can manage to pull it out" suggests you think otherwise.

This isn't gonna be a game, TwistedPanties. It's gonna be a message. First to Chris Jones and his reeruned agent, and then the rest of the league.

We're back, we're better, and we don't need Chris Jones to roll over whoever is put in front of us.
He still has 10 Conference Championship appearances, half of which were with McNabb as his QB. What HC's without an elite QB are more accomplished than him? Andy is Top 5 in all time wins and will pass Landry this this year and he is #2 in all time playoff wins.

So again what HC without an elite QB is better or more accomplished than him? You have this weird hatred for Andy and it's really sad to see. This team is beyond blessed to have him and I would bet almost any team in this league would love to have him as their HC.

Defensive tackles who are at or approaching 30 have diminishing leverage.

Just because more $$$ will be available, doesn't mean teams are going to change their calculus on who to pay that big $$$ to... RB's, older DT's, etc.
