Can’t have it both ways.

If you’re hung up on the $24.67m three year average that means you’re getting a 25% raise not only this year but for the next two as well.

If you buy into the Chiefs approach then you’re playing out your current deal and getting a 50% raise the next two (most of it guaranteed). The only path that leads to Chris not getting a raise is the one he chose which is alternatively funny and sad all at the same time.

Weird analogy, Chris. If I asked my boss for a raise, got told no, and then didn't report to work, I'd be canned pretty quickly. My best recourse would be to wait until I found another better paying job, notify my employer that I was leaving with 14 days advance notice, and continue to work at my previously agreed upon wage until then.
