I think this trade is even more important for the Vikings future than the Jets.

There are plenty of ways to ensure the tank if they choose to do it. Cousins doesn't go for a third unless it's at the deadline IMO

Let's hope if the trade happens it's a week from now so we get to face Zach Wilson AND Nick Mullens.
Oh, I don't think this actually happens, and I don't think the Vikings have the balls to do what it takes.

I don't think he does either, just saying, I would absolutely want the Vikings to pull the trigger today for a 3rd if they were my team.

I mean, how can anyone hate the Alex smith era. Or browns fans with the baker mayfield era. Probably the lions with the Goff era.

These teams are so bad that just making the playoffs is a huge victory. They’ve gotta start there because they’ll continue to see talented WRs check out.

Here's the problem - they're a week too late.

They're playing KC - do they really think Cousins can come in, say Wednesday, and get involved enough in the offense to meaningfully change that outcome?

At 1-3, they're done. They're much better with Cousins than Wilson but not THAT much better.

As a cheap flyer - sure, give it a shot. Take a chance and see if maybe he can get you to 9-4 down the stretch to settle in at 10-7 and get that last Wild Card spot.

But if the Vikings are going to try to get a 1st or even a 2nd rounder for him? Pft - it doesn't improve your odds by THAT much.

They needed to beat the Patriots this week. They gambled, and lost, on Wilson's ability to do so. But Cousins, even on a limited install, could've won them that game pretty easily.

It honestly may just be too late to matter now.

I actually think they do. It makes too much sense for them. Only because they know a justin jefferson mega deal is looming.

Nah. Bench him since he's involved in active trade negotiations and go from there. The Jets will almost assuredly cave for a better package.

Perhaps. This is all just hypotheticals anyway, doubt there's actually any legitimacy to that rumor.

The Vikings were going to move from Cousins after this year anyway so it's not the worst idea this way they can receive something for him.

They just won't have a 2nd this next year and are you that desperate that you'd give up a 1st for one season of Cousins? And would the Vikings trade him at this point in the season for a 3rd? I doubt it.
Of course the Jets would be dumb enough to give up a 1st.

How is that even a question??

The Jets would have to pull that trigger in the next couple of weeks otherwise the Jets season might be all but finished. The other question is would Cousins waive his no trade clause?

Yea, he's gone either way.

If you get a 3rd and it allows you to get one of the elite QB prospects, that's how to turn an L (0-3) to a huge W.
