It's not like he didn't need a CB either. He got one this year with Christian Gonzalez, and he looks great.

But it's a lot easier drafting in the top 20 than picks 29-32...
And that's where the rubber meets the road, IMO. Beach hasn't had a high draft pick during his tenure. He's always picking at the bottom of each round and trying to collect even more late-round picks that he can quickly turn into starters.

I think the answer here is zero; there are zero other GMs who would have the success Bert has had in compiling this team through the draft. Roseman has been incredible with his high-ish first and 2nd rounders and trades, but nobody has outdone Bert throughout the draft, IMO. I'm certainly willing to listen to arguments otherwise, but I haven't seen any yet that beat what's been done in KC with fewer/lesser assets.

It's not Reid's fault that he's an offensive minded HC. It's not a knock whatsoever. It's just the truth.
Except this isn’t one of those situations. You said BelichickGM is a bottom 5 GM. Those are your words. You also said there’s no way we’d have had similar success these last several years with BelichickGM.

BelichickGM had a 20-year dynasty thanks to the combination of BelichickHC and Brady. We know that because it actually happened.

Therefore you must think that the combination of BelichickHC-Brady is far superior to Reid-Mahomes.

I’m guessing you skimmed some posts or jumped in late because at no point have I even appeared not to understand that.

The current debate is which GMs we could replace Veach with and still have a chance at enjoying similar success to what we’ve seen since summer of 2017. In this pure fantasy hypothetical situation, we do not have a “more normal HC”. We have Andy ****ing Reid. In this hypothetical situation, we have Patrick ****ing Mahomes.

BelichickGM + BelichickHC + Tom Brady = 20 year dynasty

BelichickGM + Andy Reid + Patrick Mahomes = no dynasty whatsoever

The equation is simple. If you believe the above, which you have admitted, that means you think the combination of BelichickHC and Tom Brady is far superior to that of Reid and Mahomes.

I dunno about sheer numbers but Roseman got an elite LT in the 7th round, elite centre in the 6th, the Blankenship fella looks like he might be a stud UDFA, Sweat in the 4th...there's plenty of late round talent there, admittedly over a longer period.

What you don't seem to ****ing understand no matter how many times it is repeated, is that we're talking about Belichick the GM TODAY.

The success that Brady and Belichcik had has nothing to do with Belichick the GM today and the last several years. Even with prime Brady, he probably doesn't have a full blown dynasty in today's NFL with the AFC as tough as it is.

It turns out dynasties are VERY hard to pull off. The Chiefs aren't even there yet, and that's with all the greatness of Pat, Andy, and Veach.

The reason we're confident they're well on their way is the fact that we're coming off a SB victory in what was supposed to be a transition year. Now we're sitting here with an insanely good roster, probably the best we've had, and we're feeling good that we're on our way.

So to answer the question, after providing the context yet again, no, I do not think the Chiefs would be sitting here with 2 SBs and a fantastic roster with the dead weight of Belichick's awful drafting.

I think Andy and Pat would be great enough to have 1 by now, but I don't think we bounce back from trading Tyreek like we did with Belichick absolutely blowing the haul we received. We'd be sitting here wondering when/if we'll get a 2nd, instead of feeling like we're on our way to a dynasty.

Anybody who disagrees is completely ignoring everything I've pointed to in regards to Belichick the GM the last few years.

Andy and Pat are great, but as we've seen every single year, the margin for error is super thin. Whether it's OL injuries piling up just in time for the SB, Pat's injuries in the playoffs, Andy's son ****ing up his head, etc., winning SBs alone is hard more or less dynasties.

Belichick and Brady having a dynasty when Belichick wasn't absolutely terrible at his other job has nothing to do with whether Belichick of the last several years would have the same success as Veach in his role.

Do we have any reason to believe that Belichick would've turned the Tyreek haul and the rest of his picks into what looks like the best draft this franchise has ever had?

No, quite the opposite.

Is there any reason to believe Belichick doesn't overpay for JuJu?

No, quite the opposite.

Is there any reason to believe Belichick doesn't blow the majority of our draft picks the last few years?

No, quite the opposite.

You're either saying none of this matters, or you think Belichick the GM is better than he is despite all the overwhelming evidence to the contrary: Either way, you're ****ing reeruned.

You want to ignore all of the bad over the last several years with Belichick.

You won't address it.

Do his drafts not suck?

If you agree they suck, you don't think that would have a negative impact on our current roster?

Has he not struggled for what has to be close to a decade to provide any offensive weapons to his offense?

How would that impact Andy and Pat?

Again, people think Hardman/Moore/Rice are bad, imagine Thornton/Harry.

It's just an absolute ****ing joke to pretend there would be very little drop off in the personnel department. You have to competlely ignore the job both guys have done the last few years to come to that conclusion, which is why you won't address it.

Yes, I'd much rather be the Colts than the Pats, and that says a lot.

We've all come to the realization that Veach was the better GM, but Ballard has still been so much better than Belichick despite him being extremely risk averse.

Ballard is King Carl and the only reason he drafted a QB was bc he got bullied into doing it.

He's a gigantic pussy who will soon be fired
