I'm not sure how this appears to even be a question at this point.
I don't know that it would be unanimous. I talked some shit on MVS earlier and a few posters wept and gnashed their teeth at my spurious words. Tried telling me I simply didn't understand the value he brought to the team as a guy that stretches the field.

Yeah, the theory of MVS: Seam Stretcher is a good one.

But as was mentioned by some as far back as week 3 - being a decoy only works if you present a credible threat of getting the ball. MVS really hasn't most of the year. And once he fumbled that ball, i think Denver realized he was a non-entity for the rest of the game.

They were FLYING downhill on the sideways shit. There was zero respect for the downfield passing game at all.

Yeah. Is saw that too. Which is wild against Mahomes.

I am still absolutely flummoxed about how the MVS of the AFCCG and the MVS of 2023 are somehow the same bundle of molecules. That dude in the AFCCG was the only viable receiver on the field and and was a game wrecking mother****er who did everything. Seams, across the middle, timing routes. All of it.

Now he looks like a faster longer Skyy Moore.

Probably shouldn't gauge someone on one game. He stepped up when he needed to. Great! That is the expectation. That doesn't discount the off and on again disappearing acts prior to the AFCCG, or in the actual SB. Or the disappearing act this year.

eh. You kind of nailed it right on the head. He is a bigger, somewhat better version of Skyy. He's moderately talented but consistently inconsistent, as we saw with his technique on that comeback route. He can execute parts of routes competently, but he isn't consistent about how he executes every facet of the route or whatever.

So, anyway, you get these kinds of results. He can have a great game, as he did in the AFCCG, but that's the outlier performance. He can have one or two of those per season (or whatever the cycle really is), but mostly you're going to get his average, which is 1-2 catches/game.

Basically, the same thing we're seeing with Skyy. Mostly 2-3 catches/game (approx. 9 yd/cth average), with the occasional 4+ catch game every 8 or so games, or twice a season, maybe. But we also are getting 1-catch games/blanks for about a third of the season from Skyy, which is just inexcusable, considering what his role is supposed to be, whether you call it WR2, possession receiver, whatever.
