The rank of the defense has always been a misleading figure. While the defense has been top 10 statistically, the problem is what happens when the game is on the line. You can read the article posted in the first post to get a sense for why this happens, but it has happened repeatedly. As stated prior, three times in this season alone (in only 12 games), Allen left the field with a lead and never got the ball again, ultimately losing the game. One could say "but they have a top 10 defense", but that doesn't deny the fact that the defense continues to lose in key times.
