And he will also benefit from the Chiefs’ defense getting back on track and the Texans’ offense not doing so well. One might also consider that the new configuration of the offensive line might get better with another game under its belt. And lastly, the Broncos & Steelers are currently better than the Texans. We do not want to see Carson forced to play either one of those teams due to another injury. And especially don’t want to see Carson starting in the playoffs. If Patrick gets injured on Saturday and he’s lost for the playoffs because he wasn’t healed enough to play: no 3 peat. You’re the one that’s being shortsighted.
He has a mild sprain. The risk of further injury is very low. If it wasn't, he wouldn't be a full participant in practice and they definitely wouldn't be considering letting him play in a game.

Their greatest chance to get the #1 seed is to win this weekend and Pat gives them the best chance to win. If they get the #1 seed, the whole team gets a couple weeks to rest and heal. 2 weeks is greater than 1 game. The whole team is greater than just Mahomes.

The goal of any NFL season is to maximize opportunities to win a championship. That's exactly what they should do and it appears that's exactly what they're going to do.

It's all just probabilities. And the probability of maximizing this opportunity is far greater if Patrick plays this weekend.

Ummm, not with some of the world’s biggest, fastest & strongest athletes trying to kill you. Much lower chance if they let Wentz clean up on Houston. Let a healthier PMII demolish the Steelers. Sit everyone vs da donks! LFG!!!

And when Wentz lays an egg and they lose? Everybody thinks he's gonna come in and be the old Wentz. We don't have any real reason to believe that though other than hope. Most of his post injury career has been bad. The chances of winning with him vs winning with Mahomes just aren't worth the risk.

The chances of Pat getting injured go up with every game he plays. The goal now should be for him to play as few games as possible. The surest and most probable way to do that is to beat Houston and Pittsburgh and rest him against Denver, knowing they also have a bye.

In the end, this is all going to be moot. He's gonna play, they're going to win, and he's going to be fine.

It's Mahomes man, and you know he wants that #1 seed so he can gear up for another Super Bowl run.

I don't know why necessarily but I am really confident in this team right now. Really confident.

A Chiefs win on Saturday + a Buffalo loss on Sunday and the #1 seed would be clinched and Mahomes wouldn’t need to play vs Pittsburgh.

Bills/Patriots was flexed to the late afternoon time slot on Sunday… a close game is expected (?)

Vegas thinks otherwise at -14 (though I expected even higher).

Divisional game, Buffalo has lost to the Patriots in the recent past in their building when Mac Jones completed like one pass.

Anyone that has watched this kid knows damn well if he's cleared by doctors, and ANYTHING of importance is at stake in the game, he's not sitting.

Moreover, we're activating Hollywood this game. He's gotta be pumped to get out there and get on the same page with him before playoffs.

I've seen some commentary that this is a meaningless December game and he shouldn't risk it.

This game is not meaningless. It is one of two games of the next three needed to secure home field and a first round bye.

Sitting out will be done in 2 weeks when we've beaten the Texans and Steelers, and our JV squad takes the field against the Broncos in an actual meaningless game with playoff seeding locked.
