When does letting mahomes call his plays become a thing? Peyton did it. Brady might have but I’m not sure

There's a reason our offense looks terrible most of the game and then comes to life at the end of the game or 3rd or 4th down. Peyton didn't let Adam Gase mess him up. He was there as a lackey. |

andy is good at creating plays and designing the opening sequence.
But the thing that goes with age is processing speed(in game calls) Ideally we’d have a young quick thinker up in the booth I mean you don’t have much time to come up with each play after the last play. It’s extremely fast - paced. Speed chess vs slow chess |

I challenge anyone to watch this and come away not wanting Stanley a lot more than you did prior to watching: https://youtu.be/bPeh7n4uYFM?si=g7UgeAlyBVQX4fKL
He’s just a freaking dude out there. Silky smooth. Position ages well. I’ll bet the Chiefs get him for the real prime of his career now that his leg seems fully right. I know DJLN for example has said Baltimore makes life easy on their tackles — true to a degree. But also, that has nothing to do with the fact that dude has elite feet out there and his length is a massive strength too. He would excel anywhere and he will in KC too. This offense would be the best in the NFL with a healthy Stanley and Rice added to it, even with Kingsley taking over for Thuney. It's not hard at all to sell me on it, even though I'm aware of the risks.
Ultimately, I think Robinson is probably my preferred option assuming he's much cheaper, but I still prefer Stanley over the draft. |

I just think if that was truly the case, there's no way Baltimore would let him leave. That makes me really, really suspicious. Because THEY aren't in a position to replace a good Left Tackle any more than we are. |

Baltimore just doesn't want to pay big money to older players. They are a strict cap team. They budget. And they also are already paying big $$$ to RB, WR. Soon Linderbaum. |

How often does an elite player have that type of injury issue that spans multiple seasons, then FINALLY gets back on track during the contract year? IDK what the tag would cost them since he’s already been paid a big deal before, but regardless I can see how they ended up here without thinking it’s necessarily that they don’t like the player. If Justin Houston had a mega year in 2018, years removed from his ACL thing, I’m sure we’d be very gunshy about paying him again too. |

Guys, I have to say...we may have been too hasty in laughing the Charles Cross idea out of the room.
If the 'Hawks are having a fire sale, Cross might be able to be had after all. I mean, they've sent their QB packing, are shopping their WR's...looks like they're tanking to me. |

Their OL is a mess and the biggest issue on offense (other than QB now). Trading Cross only makes that worse. |

There’s no logical reason for them to do that. But the Smith deal doesn’t really look logical either. Is McDonald forcing a hard reset? Or they just don’t see it with Smith and want to make a small adjustment?
