1 with a 12 gauge

Damn , I love the fall , but those pesky little critters sure move around this time of year. you constantly have to watch where you're walking. And the damn tarantulas are every where too. I hate those worse.

Rattlesnake Nachos?

It's been several years since I have eaten rattlesnake. (more of a beef, moose and elk guy these days) One of the places where I go out grouse hunting, is thick with them this time of year, so when I would see one, I would make it go "night night" and take it home. If I was in the mood, I could easily get three or four along with my limit of grouse for the day. I used all kinds of different recipes, but never made rattlesnake nachos. As others have stated, rattler does taste a lot like chicken, depending on how you prepare it and which spices you choose.

It's that time of year here also. Cept for the tarantulas of course. We have enough of the brown recluses and black widows for every one if someone wants to take them off our hands.

I don't think I've ever eaten Rattlesnake, but with economic conditions the way they are I guess I might as well. Most of the rattlers around here are prairie rattlers. There are a few diamonbacks around but not many.

No . One of them I shot with my Kimber .45 I hit in the head with the 3rd shot and his whole head was gone except for a little chunk. He didn't do shit after that. Just turned him into a carcass. The one I shot yesterday with the 12 gauge was all coiled up when I shot him. After the blast he was in like 5 different pieces.

I'd love to try rattler. Seems like actually taste better than chicken given some of the stories I've heard about the way those feathery creatures are raised.
