Seriously you can't keep Herm at this point. If you keep Herm you have to give him a contract extension because allowing him to go into next season as a lame duck coach will turn away potential assistant coaches (and Herm would have to essentially rebuild his coaching staff given all the potential defections) and turn away potential free agents.

I can't see Pioli giving a contract extension to a coach he really doesn't want to keep (certainly not beyond next year).
