**** that. The guy has proven that he can't do shit with "his" roster. Explain to me why players have REGRESSED under his coaching? He has thrown everyone possible under the bus. He has shown that he can't manage a game for shit. Herm Edwards is not a head coach....he's a PR man.

With what coordinators? You see, if we hire new coordinators, it's like he didn't do his job well enough in the first place, otherwise why replace his stellar coaching staff that HE CHOSE? Maybe because they sucked ass under his tutelage and is reason enough to find his replacement. Add his abyssmal record as HC of the Chiefs and that's more than enough evidence to see he isn't the coach of the future.

No, he let his (Gailey) and Carls (Gun) coaches coach, you know the way a good coach does, with trust in them to do their job, coaching is no differant than playing, everybody must do their job.

Bullshit. Gunther, himself, said he WAS FORCED to run Herm's incompetent Cover Two out of respect for Herm, but he was NEVER comfortable with it. Guess that blows your argument out of the water and shows you for the most uninformed member of Chiefs Planet. The article was posted this very week.

Gun of all people is known for throwing everyone under the bus, um you don't remember every player Gun had on his list (Bell, Knight ect...) and couldn't do shit with them! Gun was a product of GREAT talent in the 90's and is really just a hot air bag that can't run a defense. Oh yeah what was the most underacheving part of our D again... oh yeah the linebackers in which Gun was soley in charge of, know your shit before you start throwing it!

You need to know your shit. Yes gun was in charge of the LB's. But he was having to teach them a scheme that he does not know well or is comfortable with.

Garbage.

Every defense should have a Cover 2 package as part of it's overall scheme. You can't sit there and play man to man all day or you will get toasted.

Gunther is incompetent, he's ****ing GONE, and people are STILL defending him?

Gunther wasn't much better under Vermeil. No cover 2 there, he got a ton of free agents and Surtain through the trade, and top draft pics. Plus DV basically let him run the defense while he focused on offense. What's the excuse there?

The earlier comment by Woody Paige...

The comment wasn't made by Woody Paige, but by a poster on his site. Thus far, it seems we have nothing buy Athan whispering "Shanahan" into a drunken Jack Harry's ear and Kyle Shanahan's comment at a mall.

We're the victim of "traveshamockery".

It's an OM thing.

Nick had nothing to do with Jack's report.

But, again, I will quote the report we referenced weeks ago on our website.

Quote:
Shanahan was at least partially fired in Denver because he wanted to hold on to Bob Slowik as defensive coordinator, but his real undoing may have been his dual role as Broncos Head Coach and Executive Vice President of Football Operations. Shanahan had absolute power, and it absolutely destroyed Denver’s defense.

That may not be a problem in Kansas City. Per an NFL source, Shanahan has made it known through “third-party channels” that he’s interested in the Chiefs’ job but would not require total control of football operations as he did in Denver. Can you imagine the perfect pairing of Shanahan and a general manager who could pluck the right defensive talent from the draft, while assisting in the search for the right defensive coordinator?
There is substance to this. The article is over two weeks old. Since then, Shanahan's name has continued to pop up in reports on our premium forum. No other coach has received nearly as much play. Certainly not Todd Haley.

So IS HERM. Two peas, one pod. It's laughable that you can't grasp that Herm was his BOSS and is RESPONSIBLE for Gunther's defense, whether he wants to accept that responsibilty or not, it's still his to bare, because he has been the HEAD coach, not the other way around. He calls the shots.

It's also hilarious that you actually think Gunther prefered to run the cover two and it's wasn't forced down his throat, even knowing that Herm IS A COVER TWO disciple and brought his shit defense with him.

Don't confuse my dislike for Herm's coaching as an endorsement for Gunther, either.

Not according to Gun. Gun said that he was FORCED to run the zone scheme.

EDIT: Damn I'm slow...
