Cardinals claim no one has asked permission to speak with Haley. Either they are lying, or we are so dead-set on him, we don't even need to interview him this week. Which is it?

They're not going to officially interview anyone until Herm is fired. No one has ever "offically" interviewed a HC candidate while the old HC still had the job. Common sense and common decency.

Gets murky. Without officially asking permission, we'd be tampering. I have to believe that if we were dead-set on hiring him, we've talked to him. Perhaps we, Haley, and Arizona have an agreement in place to keep it quiet so as to not disrupt their preparation.

How about "unofficially." Then they can give the interview "official" status after deciding on Herm and no one's the wiser.
