Gatorade Shower or No Gatorade Shower?
Better not do this again

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has a message for his players: Don't give me a Gatorade shower if we win the Super Bowl. Defensive end Nick Eason and linebacker Arnold Harrison did it after the Conference Championship and Tomlin made sure to get a mental note of who did it.

Sounds like the guy isn't much fun. But has the "Shower" been played out or is it tradition?

About the most played out thing in sports. Never liked the gatorade bath thought it was stupid from the start.

Worse than the "Wave?" Yes, I agree the "Shower" has lost it's spontaneity but it's just tradition now. When was the last Head Coach of the wining Super Bowl team not "Baptized in the color of orange"? I'm guessing Bill Walsh Niners 84 over Dolphins. I remember he and Ditka in 85, being carried of the field, but no shower. First, Shower was Parcells Giants 86? Corrections appreciated.

Doesn't some coach say every year "Don't dump the Gatorade on me." and then and then it happens anyways?

It's lame, old, tired, played out and,... not going anywhere for a long time.

So I guess I'd better get used to it.

Completely played out. The only way it would have any spontaneity at this point would be if some crazy coach grabbed the bucket, lifted it over his own head and dumped it on himself. Outside of that scenario, it is the least exciting celebration in football.

I think it's fine for teams winning the super bowl, but people have started doing it for much lesser accomplishments, which I think is lame.
