A. We already have murders around town, what's three more?
B. He's not slow or fat, he's not 25 years old anymore, but he's still a force in the middle.
C. I already bought the jersey.

There should probably be a sharp objects clause in the contract.

You cannot be serious. Lewis is a sure hall of famer who is probably the best defensive leader in the NFL. I cant name one guy who motivates his team more than Lewis. With the youth we have on the defensive side, we need a guy like him. Maybe he is old, but I wouldnt complain if we signed him.

I was listening to a Lou Holtz interview on Sirius NFL radio yesterday. It made me smile and think of Mecca. In fact, I laughed a little, because I think Lou Holtz may know a little something about the game.

He said there are no sure fire QBs available to draft this year, because TeeBow and Bradford did not come out. He said Bradford "paraphrasing" is going to be a fantastic Pro. He wasn't very complimentary of Sanchez coming out, too early for him. He was rather luke warm about Stafford.

I know that Holtz has to know a ton about football. Has to.

But when he said Teabag, tell me you started to reach to turn the channel?

Seriously, that douche is going to be lucky to be a poor man's Vince Young.

Christ, Lou Holtz was a genius of a college coach, but is currently gumming his way through a Saturday desk job and falling off his rocker...c'mon someone needs to prop him back up I feel bad.

I have to admit, I was smiling at his comments about Teebow. But what he said was true, he was talking about his will to win and do anything to accomplish it. He was talking about "football players" and not ideal stereo types.

Clark's comment should put an end to some of the speculation about guys like Peppers.

Chiefs fans have to face facts. There is a gross lack of talent on the roster, and it's going to take time to overhaul this thing.
If Pioli and company repeat the Patriots model, you can look for the team to be flooded with veterans, especially those with the right mentality. In 2000 and 2001, the team signed:

Bobby Hamilton
Jon Harris
Antonio Langham
Otis Smith
Je'Rod Cherry
Larry Izzo
Marty Moore
Roman Phifer
Anthony Pleasant
Chris Sullivan
Mike Vrabel
Bryan Cox

on the defensive side. Vrabel and Phifer combined with Bruschi, Johnson and Cox to form the linebacking corps, Izzo strengthened the special teams with Cherry, Pleasant and Hamilton helped form the defensive line and Otis Smith teamed with Law to solidify the cornerback position. Moore, Langham, Sullivan and Harris were far less successful choices.

It's not a complete overhaul via free agency, but you're looking at 6 of about 13 main defenders, and the two best special teamers on that 2001 Super Bowl winning team.

You can see the same thing with the offense, with players like Mike Compton, Joe Andruzzi, David Patten, Marc Edwards, Damon Huard, Antowain Smith, Ken Walter (punter) and Grant Williams adding both starters and depth to the team.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Chiefs and the Broncos in competition for those types of players this offseason.
