Hitting them isn't all that cool either. Injury from impact can occur. I've also heard of people getting a bad case of death from the antlers coming through the windshield.

Last year in Scott City it happened to a young guy that was recently married and his wife had just had a baby.

Optimally. You want to get the car shut down before you hit them, then comes a controlled miss. Then ditch. If you head towards the ditch, don't try to jerk it back on the road, you'll flip. Last option is the deer.

Pretty much you're ****ed either way.
