F*****G Ticketmaster

So today my friend and I try to buy Tool tickets for the show at Nokia Theatre in Grand Prairie and it's the usual bs. My friend can't get in and then it took me 4 tries to get pit tickets. We needed 7 tickets but I could only cover 3 so my friend was going to grab the other 4. Luckily I got in when I did because at 10:07 the show was sold out (went on sale at 10) and then pit tickets were posted on stub hub for $542.

On top of all that there were an additional $17.25 in additional fees so an $80 ticket jumped to $97 and then there was another $5 service charge for the overall order. Goddamn 20% of face value fees and 17.7% of total purchase was fees. **** TICKETMASTER!

IIRC Didn't they get in trouble for exorbitant fees before?

A pair of $10 tickets to the preseason NHL game at the Sprint Center, and f***ing TicketMaster wanted $20 in fees.

I'll just go to the box office tomorrow, but WTF? Guess I don't notice it as much when the tickets are already $50+. I don't really care about the TicketFast charge, even if it's crap, but a $12 convenience charge on $20 worth of tickets... and then $5.50 for processing?

I'd rather pay over face value with Stubhub than get fee'd to death.

Those fees are horrendous but the one that really gets me is the fee for printing it yourself. Screw that and take the free standard mail delivery. I can't believe they charge you for them to NOT print the ticket and mail it.

I'm usually last minute about tickets since I travel so much and never know if I'll be some place even a few weeks down the road.... so while it is completely asinine and ass-backwards to not charge when mailing it, I bend over and take the "oh, you need it now" fee.

I bought Buckcherry tickets earlier today through Ticketmaster, and it ended up being $15 in fees for a $35 ticket, but I was just surprised it wasn't sold out and didn't mind paying $50 to see them..... I need to start using box offices though. Damn.

TicketRaper is one of the biggest scams going. I try and by directly from the venue the show is at as often as possible.

That sucks. But at the end of the day ticketmaster knows that harcore music fans will pony up to go see their favorite bands and that's why they do what they do. What's even worse is I think Live Nation just merged with TM so expect to get overcharged even further.

Hard to believe a fan of Rush could make a statement like that, eh?
