I think I need to hire a lawyer for my 16 year old son who got a speeding ticket for going 34 in a 20 school zone.

It is a church school that he didn't realize was a school, and on the description on the ticket, the officer clocked him before he was even 10 feet into the school zone. And he was sitting there waiting for a high school kid, because high school had just let out. I have literally driven down this road over 50,000 times in my life, at all times of day and year, and have never seen cop checking speed in this school zone.

The cop could have seen how nervous my son was, and been understanding about his lack of knowledge of the school, but he wasn't.

So, I need to hire a lawyer, and thought I would ask here first.

If you are not a lawyer, maybe you could recommend someone.

My view is because I knew a kid who got hit coming out of school. The kid dodged out between cars, completely at fault. Was out of school a year because of it.

Kids don't think that's why there are signs. They don't have them at office buildings. Though I imagine they do around the houses of congress. Unfortunate for us

Have I sped? Yep. Have I been ticketed? Yep. Have I payed those tickets or have I asked my relatives to take care of them? I ****ing payed them......it was MY fault, and I need to own up to it.

I paid my tickets....outta my own pocket. Ive only had 2.....now tickets for no front plate......ive had 4, and those ive paid as well......$75 a piece.

We live in Blue Springs, so you know the cop was a dickhead. (And if you are a Blue Springs cop reading this, eff off you f**cking c**k***ker, you know you are a dick)

honestly, I would just pay the fine. No use going through all this trouble. for what? 14 over? did he hurt anybody? did he lose any points off his license? Is your son okay?

Those are the things you should look at. Paying a fine for 14 over is peanuts. It prolly won't effect his insurance that much. These little tickets are like a little scratch. Absolutely no use worrying about them. No biggie at all.

eh, I got one plate violation a year for 4 years, so $75 a year to not hafta drill into my front bumper is well worth it. one speeding was 78 in a 65, the other was 68 in a 55......deserved both
