If Cassel is the next Trent Green like everybody around here wants, maybe next year we can add a wide receiver and have the #1 offense! It'll be just like old times.

True on a few of them.

But none the less, he has a roster full of new guys since he first stepped on the field as a Chief. Waters (nearly done) and Bowe are the only two that are not "new" since that day.

We should see some real progress if he is a true QB. And I have a feeling the opposing DC's are going to test him. Can't imagine many of them are going to go home with Charles hanging 200 on them as the first option.

I mentioned this once before. The Chiefs had the opportunity to draft a NT, A QB, and LT, they passed on all. It is my humble opinion that the Chiefs are confident in their new coaching staff to coach up all of the forementioned positions. I could very well see a beefed up Dorsey at NT with Jackson and Macgee on the edge. Cass get's another shot with a guy who knows a couple things about qb play. Do I agree entirely with the Chiefs thoughts? No, but just saying I can see what they are thinking.......

It should be apparent they believe in what they have at those positions and are relying on coaching to make it happen....

My guess right now is this does not turn out near as bad as what many are thinking right now.Last year's team did better than what I expected in truth. Was really expecting a team that might have the #1 pick in 2010.They do need a couple guys on D,but I have a strange feeling this turns out ok.I am not saying 10 wins or anything right now,but I think they actually might have built a little here if one does believe in Albert.I think the D will pull off a bit of a surprise and the team will improve and be decent.Don't believe Pioli has it all ****ed up just yet, and I really don't even care for him.Just an opinion.

Dorsey is not going to play NT. He's too small. Hell he's barely 6'1" 297lbs. He's not going to "beef up" on Haley's Jazzercize conditioning program. And despite how much weight he could gain, he'd still be too small.

It seems that they're comfortable with Edwards and Smith.

interesting analogy that it's about excuses..I mean, teams shouldn't do what they can to help their offense succeed? or better yet, aren't you stating the reasons for the subpar performance of the offense?

...it's 11 guys, not 1.

What are we waiting to see?
Last year Matt Cassel put a stat line almost as good as Tyler Thigpen's.
He threw for 21 TDs in the same exact offense that Brady threw 50 TDs for.
Pioli can surround him with the AFC All Star team but he's still a backup QB on most teams.
