Watch out for motorcycles on the road please

Twice within a 3 mile stretch on my way home I had some blue hair pull out in front of me. Apparently a horn does me no good either... need to stop by the hardware store and pick up some ball bearings for when the horn isn't enough.

Just saying, "hi". Sort of like farmers on a country road.

just an acknowledgement to another rider. Heck, a lot of the time I know/have met/ridden with/bike night etc with the rider I'm passing. Takes a different breed of cat to ride on the street; harley/sportbike/tourer etc. I think it's an acknowledgement of being out there taking a risk riding on the street etc.

I've seen Jeep owners do this as well.

although, the likelihood of a harley rider waving back at me on my sportbike are 40/60.

I wave at them when I'm on my bike, but they never wave back.

That’s good, as it should be.
I have nothing against the “stuntaz”, just wish they’d take that shit off the road so the only hide they’re risking is their own.

It’s the same phenomenon as someone crossing railroad tracks and not seeing the train that’s about the run them down even though it’s huge, loud and has a flashing light on the front of it.

100% agree.

not to mention they're contributing to the bad rap/name that sportbike riders have. I ride very tame around town; but I"ll open 'er up about and hour outside of the city for more 'spirited' rides.

I can agree with that. But it's just a simple fact that motorcycles are smaller and therefore not as easy to see as a car or truck.

100% agree. Take it someplace where no one else is in danger. When I saw the moron on 350 it was during rush hour.

I wear a bright yellow fluorescent jacket with body armor and while stopped at a stop sign a couple of months ago, I was rear ended by an on duty Police officer in an SUV. $8800 in damage to my bike and I severely sprained my ankle and both wrists. Turns out he was typing on his laptop and didn't see me.

Not sure what to do to protect myself going forward.....

It's pretty clear you're going to have to start strapping a 12 guage to the side of your bike and start offing pigs rolling down the road. That's probably the only way you'll be safe.

I rode bikes for years. There are a lot of people who do not pay attention. That and said bikes can get lost in blind spots that bikes tend move quicker and that adds to the problem~
