Between 25 and 50 yards out, I'm all for it. 25 and in, take the free points (in most cases). 50 and out, don't give the enemy good field position (in most cases).

I'd generally agree, but I'd amend to say that you go for it inside the 5.

That one I'll leave up to the coaches. To be honest, in that situation I'd be more like a little girl making an emotional decision. I can see it in some situations (up and the D playing well, down and in desperate need), but in a close game it's tough for me to give up easy point.
