Haley will serve as guest analyst on ESPN show
Former Chiefs coach Todd Haley, fired on Monday after the team’s 37-10 loss to the New York Jets, will be a guest analyst tomorrow on the ESPN show “Audibles,” which will air from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. He’ll appear alongside regular analysts Keyshawn Johnson, Trent Dilfer and Jerry Rice.

An ESPN communications executive described the show as having a viewer-controlled format, allowing the analysts to answer questions.

Haley spent less than three seasons as Chiefs coach before being fired Monday.

Well, he must be reeruned, then. He had the opportunity to go work for maybe the richest owner in the NFL, but picked KC, apparently not thinking to ask whether or not he'd be given enough money to work with.

Funny as hell the other day when local radio said Haley's agent had contacted Arizona State to express interest in their HC job and ASU told him "thanks but no thanks".

Sounds like my job. To a T. No wonder myself and colleagues in positions of management are all unhappy.

Didn't get to listen much but Danny Parkins was going off on Haley's performance last night and how it was a soap opera. He thought Haley was unprofessional and did a disservice to himself and the Chiefs.

First of all, he was far from unprofessional in the clips I've heard so far.

Second, he CANNOT do a disservice to the Chiefs - they fired him. Get over it.

I thought he was kind of catty when it was about him but otherwise did a good job. I don't think he did himself any favors as far as potential employers as a head coach. Perhaps as a TV analyst he did.

I don't think Haley was a poor fit for the team. I just think Pioli is so close-minded that he thinks there is only one way to do things. Here's what we do know. In almost every single way, Pioli did things exactly as he did in New England. Closed door policy, coaches saying nothing, secrecy, etc.... Same exact 2-gap defense, same Charlie Weis offense, same focus on role players/leaders/cheapness, and a bunch of players who played for the Patriots (including Cassel, the most important guy on the field).

Pioli's the boss. But this entire team model reeks of Pioli. And the biggest mistakes in personnel, apart from Palko, are owned by Pioli. When a guy gets his way all the time, he's the guy most at fault. You can say Haley needed to be tougher in fighting off Pioli, but I think that's a tough battle to win.

Well said, and I agree. But to finish the point, it is also Pioli's first time of being in this position, and I feel Clark has pointed out to him how he has ****ed up, and what he needs to change. The locked doors coming unlocked I think is a good example of that.

Of course, I have always been a glass half full kind of person. Hopefully he starts doing things right, sooner than later.

He mistakenly said "we" twice when referring to the Chiefs. He still views himself as a member of this team subconsciously.
