He's not a good thrower yet. Personally I don't give a shit what he throws for as long as we win. At 7-4 on the season, That's what he did, and he had limited experience and no off-season during a coaching change. Now if he doesn't show the marked improvement he made this year, next year, then it might be time to head in a new direction.

I differ, not only are they jealous of Tebow, but the coverage drives them up the wall further. |

This is a good season for a project QB that was considered a 3 year project. |

I'm sure there is something to the notion that he was drafted with the goal of not starting him prior to 2-3 years... but, that changed. There were times this year in games with the Chargers, Bears and Vikings where I thought "Hmmm, they can probably make this work". But, they don't have the weapons that fit exactly... so, if they stick with this plan in 2012, there has to be some serious changes to the offense.

I don't know if "accurately enough" is a good way to describe it. He can be accurate, but he has a lot of short passes and just as many high passes. If 'accurate enough' means within 5 feet of the WR, then yes... I do think he is improving at checking his options and going through the progressions, but he is locking in too much on one guy - whether it's Thomas or Decker. Decker is simply not getting the looks and is missed thanks to inaccurate passes too often. The guy can make some great catches and he also needs to improve his routes, same with Thomas. The KC game was the worst that I've seen from him... again, it was like he was playing with the reality that OAK had already lost, giving Denver the win and he was just trying to not screw up. You can't play like that. Maybe they're trying to 'reel him in' too much, I don't know. If you have a guy like Tebow, you have to let him do what comes naturally and trust his instincts if things break down or the heat is on. If that means he runs more - fine, but don't run hesitantly and then fumble right as you're about to make that 1st down. The lack of a solid short passing game is killing them... waiting until late to pass more often is not going to work. They have 2 of the 3 things you need to win - strong run game and a strong defense. Special teams (punt and kick returns) has hurt them a lot recently. Combine that with more turnovers in the last 3 games than they had in the previous 7 and it's just a disaster waiting to happen. Denver can certainly win this game on Sunday, but they can't play like they did vs KC... they need to come out strong like they did vs NE and BUF, find a way to get over the mental hurdle that has become the 2nd quarter and be smart.

Decker has only been targeted 8 times in the last 3 games... only twice vs NE and only twice vs KC. That will not cut it.
Decker had 17 targets in the previous 3 games and and 13 in the 3 prior to that stretch. In comparison, Thomas has 40 targets in the last 4 games... 21 receptions. Matt Willis, Eddie Royal, Daniel Fells, McGahee and Lance Ball ... they're getting little action in the targets per game. And, I realize it's going to be low when you only throw on average 20-25 times per game. But, if they mix it up better and have plays (misdirection, bootlegs, play action) that can open up those 5-15 yard passes... they could likely see greater production and keep the defenses honest. I just don't think that those guys (underlined above) are the best weapons to have and those are the areas to fix in the off-season.

I disagree about Decker. While I think he's a decent blocker, I believe he has trouble finding the ball and at times creating seperation. Every reciver on this team minus Fells had balls him them in the hands and they dropped them every game. Now Tebow does not have the most catchable ball in the league, but they have to amke those catches every time. Well see what happens next year, but I love that all the Chief fans are soo concerned that they start a thread every week telling us how bad he is. |

Basically Garcia is telling us that he doesn't need us to tell him just how bad Tebow is, because he already knows full well how bad Tebow is.
SO GB, which QB do you think the Broncos will take with their first pick in April? |

I think we'll draft BPA all through the draft. And make no mistake, we'll bring in a Vet. We are too far back in the draft to use a pick on a QB as rookie. It doesn't get us anywhere if Tebow goes down with an injury except cause controversy. |

Ok, lets look at the real facts, then look at the opinions.
Facts: 1. Tim Tebow was the QB when the broncos went 7-4 this season. 2. The broncos were incredibly fortunate to win three of those four games (think onside kicks and chicago not running out of bounds, or they are 4-7 in that time. 3. The broncos have a solid defense 4. During the 7-4 stretch, the broncos played only 2 teams that ended up as playoff teams. They lost both. Opinions 1. Tim Teabow was a motivating factor and led the team to those wins 2. Kyle Orton was terrible and Tebow is better 3. Tim Tebow can develop into a starting caliber NFL QB 4. Tim Tebow is a winner at this level Putting it all together, lets be real. The guy came onto the scene with a totally unconventional offensive system installed after week 6 when it became obviouse to John Fox, that he doesn't have the delivery, accuracy, or field vision to run a typical NFL passing offense. That unconventional system caught the first three or four teams by surprise and took a few weeks to teach them the discipline needed to defend it. During that time, the broncos caught some very uncanny breaks such as Marion Barber failing to run out of bounds, getting an onside kick against an 0-6 Miami team, a brand new QB in Oakland that hadn't played but a few quarters in a year, etc. Finally, the schedule toughened a bit (though not much), the defenses figured out how to stop a college read option offense, and the breaks stopped (other than the chiefs muffed punt). Guess what? The broncos lose 3 in a row. Tebow's numbers are some of the worst in NFL history. That isn't any coincidence. The guys a gamer without NFL talent. Tyler Thigpen with a lesser accuracy. Had John Fox not scrapped the offense to save some sort of offensive face, Tebows numbers would likely be even worse. This is a case of a few random events coming together in a time sequence that is purely coincidental, and leading to a perception of an outcome that simply isn't reality. In all likelyhood, Elway knows this and will plan to move on in the offseason. If not, the broncos are putting thier rebuilding process on hold for another two years or so while the young guys they have begin to reach and or pass thier prime. I'm not buying in at all. It is delusional to think this guy can get the broncos to the playoffs again. They got there DESPITE his play, not because of it. Heck, this is just my opionion, but I think they started figuring Foxs defensive scheme out about week 4 or 5. I think if they had kept Orton, they'd be sitting at 10-6 and might have a first round bye. As a chiefs fan, I'm VERY happy they are drinkin the Tebow koolaid. |
