Apparently the Chiefs and Patriots asked the Rams permission to talk to McDaniels according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

If he were the head coach in waiting here it'd be another 3-4 years assuming Pioli and company isn't shit canned within the next year or 2 which is possible if they suck. Coaching Brady atleast would make him look like a genius and would be the faster way to get a HC job IMO.

I don't buy into it because Clark Hunt doesn't believe in Cassel the same way Pioli does according to the guy I talk to that's given me solid info in the past. At the end of the day, if Clark has an opinion about a player, and the need to upgrade or change, it's going to happen regardless of Pioli's thoughts.

We can only hope. All signs have been pointing to more Cassel, hopefully they have been smoke.
