Which State has the Worst Drivers?

Originally, I was going to have this poll ask which state had the worse drivers - Kansas or Iowa? But I realized that dipshittery on the roadways is by no means confined to those two states.

So, what say you, Planet? Which state that you have been in most makes you want to full on road rage? Poll on the way.....

I haven't driven much in Florida, and the old person theory seems sound, but based on my experience Texas is the worst, other than west Texas. You have this weird combination of a culture of breakneck speed combined with heavy truck traffic, pickups that don't secure their loads, rednecks who think Texans are superheroes, and illegal aliens who drive beat-up cars below the speed limit because they're afraid of getting stopped. I'm not a fan of driving in Texas.

And I'd disagree about California's voting. It's not pleasant driving since it's so congested, but the drivers there tend to be very polite from what I've seen, and I drive there pretty regularly. I think everyone knows that one wreck means delays for 10,000 people, and everyone is sympathetic about trying to cross six lanes to get to an exit since they all have to do it.

Like I said, not fun, but polite.

Texas is nuts from the times I've been, yes. However, I can respect somewhat that at least they drive FAST as shit, since here in Tulsa...it's really slow goin. Yet somehow almost as dangerous. Odd I know.

I did some research many years ago that showed that slow drivers are more annoying than fast drivers. This surprises me since I think fast drivers are inherently more dangerous.

My theory is that the typical driver is closer in speed to a fast driver than a slow driver, and fast drivers are less likely to impede them whereas slow drivers do so by definition.

The problem here is, the slow drivers drive slow because A) they're reeruned or B) they're on their phone or whatever. This becomes dangerous because they are just deathly road blocks for the normal/fast speed drivers. Since they're slow AND not paying attention.

I voted for Pennsylvania because Scranton is the place where I've been most afraid for my life while driving. The roads were horrible and the drivers were insane.

Maryland is awful, too (though I might be biased by my accident there).

In the state of Washington, people continually get on the interstate at 45-50 miles per hour and break instead of speeding up to merge if a car is near them. It is unbelievably dangerous.

I got Texas at #2. California, IMO, is just a little bit worse.

I always found Maryland drivers to be pretty good in the Baltimore area but really bad down around DC.

Kansas drivers are better then Tennessee drivers. I have not driven in all states, so Im not sure which is the worst.
