I was at the Royals game on Sunday, and before the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", someone sang "God Bless America".

I was already standing, so I sang along, but I heard some dumbass hayseed yell "TAKE OFF YERRRR HAT" to another fan.

At what point did this become a "tradition", like the singing of "take me out" at Major League Baseball games?

America sucks. Also, God isn't real. And Bless was Swedish girlband Bubbles' worst album. So yeah, who would stand for that shit?

Exactly. Which one would you rather be singing in the first football game after 9/11? Which one works better with an A-10 or B-2 flyover? I find the whole stand, take off your hat put your hand over your heart nonsense to be completely ridiculous. I think they shouldn't play the national anthem before games, it started in the 40s during World War II and it's become an obnoxious obsession by crazy people.

If you want to play the national anthem before Olympic games or games in which were competing against Canada I have no problem with that. This before every sporting event idea I just find ludicrous.
