Nothing about the crime dismisses brain trauma as a possible factor. Nothing will except an examination of Belcher's brain.

According to the Chiefs and the NFL, Belcher never had a concussion during his career. It's also been stated that he never missed a game or suffered a concussion in college.

Until it's been proven that he suffered from CTE or another form of brain damage, it's pure speculation and IMO, makes lessens the seriousness of the crime.
