49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

This is the Mike Vick acquisition all over for Reid, except he didn't give up picks for him.

Both aren't that good of throwers, they are both injury prone (Smith only started 16 games twice in 8 years) and they are overrated.

This will not end well for Reid. Holy shit.

I'd also want to add that from my experience with Reid, he would not have been okay with this unless he really really did not like Geno Smith. I read that Glazer said Reid loved Alex Smith. For him to be okay with giving up two high draft picks, he wouldn't just need to love Alex Smith, he also must think Geno Smith is going to be a total stiff.

When Andy Reid first came to Philadelphia he said in his introductory press conference that his first goal is to solve the QB problem. I assume philosophically he had the same goal for the Chiefs. With the #1 overall pick, and Geno Smith his for the taking, he would have taken him if he really liked him. Reid knows how valuable a strong QB is. So right or wrong, I'm assuming Reid and Dorsey just see nothing in Geno Smith.

I think they end up trading down to prob get some shit value pick in the 2nd to make up for this.

I'd bet they take a developmental guy in the third and I think bray might be the best guy for that

If Reid knows how valuable a strong QB is why did he spend two premium picks on Alex Smith?

Just taking BPA and signing a vet FA QB and holding out for next year, while infinitely ****ing stupid, would also have been a far better decision than this.
