49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

The Smithy Niners beat Rodgers in Week 1.

To be fair it was a decent game by Smith. 211 yards and all.

If you are referring to the RS...why? Given that there are 256 NFL games played every year the sheer preponderance of RS games dictates that inferior QBs will beat superior ones.

It's also why Jeff Francouer will occasionally get a hit off of Justin Verlander.

But if your season is on the line, do you want Frenchy taking those hacks for you?

They played half their season, the season that got them to the SB, with Smith as QB. And they were 6-2 with him. But you refuse to give him any credit for their success.

I clarified in my last post. Smith was QB for half the season that got them to the SB. He deserves credit.

you just proved my point even further thank you! you picked 1, qb out of the many many that didnt win one, but even Danny boy has played in one.

As a Chiefs fan, we havent even sniffed one in a long long time and its going to continue to be that way. The Chiefs keep playing the lottery to win big rather then play a game of rock paper scissors.

He didn't play in any of their playoff games, you dumb ****. Why the **** would I give him credit for playing in games he didn't?

Did Priest Holmes some how help Jamaal Charles break the franchise rushing record against Denver?

He deserves half the credit for getting them there, he started in half the games. The season didn't start when Kaepernik took over,

If Alex Smith starts that game, Rodgers gets the win and we're not even having this discussion.

That's a reality Chiefs fans are going to be facing for the next couple of years I'm afraid. Playoff losses to Baltimore, Indianapolis, Denver, New England, and any team with a real QB.

The point is that it has almost NOTHING to do with Alex Smith or Geno Smith. It has to do with the way nearly all of the recent superbowl teams have been built. Those teams drafted their franchise quarterbacks and THEN built a superbowl quality team around them. They didn't trade for their quarterbacks from a team that didn't think they were good enough to start.

I hope (for my future confidence in this team) that these guys are right and that this is the worst QB class in history and there isn't a quality NFL starter in the whole bunch.

If we take Joeckel and Geno goes to Oakland, we better hope we were right.
