Yeah, you've proven your brilliance time after time on this site.

I'm sure you're right and everyone else is wrong.

This is all over the fan base. It's only this site that is already hostile to the new regime. Either the Planet lacks the vision to see Reed/Dorsey's game plan for victory or we are the only ones seeing the looming disaster and wasted years.

It's that 99% of this fanbase doesn't view perpetual mediocrity as "disaster" or "wasted years."

The 1% have seen this movie before, and know how it ends. It's like watching Titanic 29 times and on the 30th viewing, thinking the ship is going to be fine.

Or as Scott Wright put it, it's like stopping at $8,000 on Who Wants to be a Millionaire - sure, it's nice money, but it's not life-changing.

This fanbase is content with mediocrity.

No, this fan base isn't content with mediocrity. Hell, this fan base hasn't SEEN mediocrity, well, EVER.

4-12, 2-14, 4-12, 10-6, 7-9, 2-14 is NOT mediocrity.

This team has either been very good or outright shit. For the past six seasons, this team has been outright shit. For the Chiefs to move forward and not lose their entire fan base, they've needed to make moves to at least reach mediocrity.

There's still free agency and the draft ahead. There will likely be cut downs in August as well. I expect this team to improve and if they "only" go 8-8 this season, I'll be stoked.

It sure beats the ****ing hell out of 2-14.

This... is the post i was trying to come up with for OTWP.

They have to start somewhere in the effort to be relevant again, and as you astutely pointed out earlier the stats dont really tell the whole story on Axl... he's a clearcut upgrade over cassel.

I personally am NOT satisfied with mediocrity, and i hate that charge being leveled about on anyone who's trying to find the good in the new regimes moves.

Simply winning with any level of consistency is a step in the right direction, get that old aura back and a championship future might be bright... all of the sudden you're a hotspot for prime free agents again, rookies salivate at the thought of playing here again... the point is, getting back to simply DECENT, doesnt preclude the eventual arrival of our Virgin Rookie Savior, who knows what the future holds.

No you have to lose and get the 1st pick in the draft or you don't have a chance./

I've never before seen fans of a 2-14 team talking about how its super bowl over the next couple years or bust. You don't just draft a guy with your top pick and that automatically makes him a franchise qb who's going to put you in contention for a championship every year, that's not how football works just ask the browns. The most you can hope for is to always take steps to get better, being a champion doesn't happen overnight.

Dip shit. We who want to draft a QBotf want him so we can grow as a franchise into being champions. We expect it to take time with growing pains but we will have hope to get better for the long haul in building a Championship team. Getting retread reeruns like your Alex Smith is in no way step toward that goal.

With Alex Smith the future is 8-8, 9-7. He won't have that 49ers defense here.

It's a dumb ass fan base. People were happy when Herm was hired after failing in NY. KC fans love sloppy seconds. Enjoy the taste of San Fran spooge.
