Press conference

@ArrowheadAddict: Dorsey: We feel very fortunate that Alex will be a member of the Chiefs franchise for years to come.

@ArrowheadAddict: Dorsey: Since the beginning of this process, we've always had our eye on Alex.

@ArrowheadAddict: Smith: I'm ready for this.

@ArrowheadAddict: Smith: I can't say how excited I am for it. Thankful for the opportunity.

I Agree with this tweet:

@Lance_THESPOKEN: Dorsey said the reason they signed Alex is because quote "He's shown he can play football at a very high level." WHEN????? #Chiefs

THE BEST ONE OF THEM ALL:

@Lance_THESPOKEN: Yes, Andy Reid just said they're gonna "work on getting Alex Smith in the Hall of Fame." Take it as you will, I didn't make it up. #Chiefs

They're already sold on Smith, way to keep your options open dick suckers:

@APdaveskretta: Andy Reid: "I'm going to tell you every position we try to create competition ... but I'll tell you, Alex is the starting QB" #Chiefs

Let me know when he's gone, I'm done with this shit organization.

@DannyParkins: Talked to #Chiefs GM John Dorsey away from the media and he says it's absolutely fair to say they view Alex Smith as longterm answer at QB.

Not only were the numbers barely higher but Vernon Davis' numbers fell off a cliff with Kaep until the playoffs.

This team has either been very good or outright shit. For the past six seasons, this team has been outright shit. For the Chiefs to move forward and not lose their entire fan base, they've needed to make moves to at least reach mediocrity.

There's still free agency and the draft ahead. There will likely be cut downs in August as well. I expect this team to improve and if they "only" go 8-8 this season, I'll be stoked.

It sure beats the ****ing hell out of 2-14.
This... is the post i was trying to come up with for OTWP.

They have to start somewhere in the effort to be relevant again, and as you astutely pointed out earlier the stats dont really tell the whole story on Axl... he's a clearcut upgrade over cassel.

I personally am NOT satisfied with mediocrity, and i hate that charge being leveled about on anyone who's trying to find the good in the new regimes moves.

Simply winning with any level of consistency is a step in the right direction, get that old aura back and a championship future might be bright... all of the sudden you're a hotspot for prime free agents again, rookies salivate at the thought of playing here again... the point is, getting back to simply DECENT, doesnt preclude the eventual arrival of our Virgin Rookie Savior, who knows what the future holds.

I'm tired of everyone saying, "It's better than what we had." When you upgrade from shit to a shit sandwich, it's still shit.

No you have to lose and get the 1st pick in the draft or you don't have a chance./

So, go on record. All of you that are "done with this shit franchise", please let us know. Who will you be a fan of this season? And when the chiefs are good, who knows when, will you root for them again?

I've never before seen fans of a 2-14 team talking about how its super bowl over the next couple years or bust. You don't just draft a guy with your top pick and that automatically makes him a franchise qb who's going to put you in contention for a championship every year, that's not how football works just ask the browns. The most you can hope for is to always take steps to get better, being a champion doesn't happen overnight.

I mean really. The guy had Mike Nolan and Mike Singeltary as his HC, 6 different OCs in as many years, two of which were Jimmy Raye and teo guys who had never calked plays before. on top of that he suffered a significant shoulder injury. When Alex came out of Utah, spread QBs were nit nearly as commin. Nolan at that time was completely I'll equipped to develop Smith and threw him in way before he was ready. As for Singeltary? He is flat out reeruned.

As soon as Harbaugh got into SF, and without a full offseason. Smith lead the 9ers withing two special teams gaffs (against a very evenly match and stout Giants team) from the Super Bowl.

It amusing watching you asshats bash a guy you know nothing about, aside from the cherry picked stats that go much further in making you look cork on your fork stupid, than actually proving anything at all.
