Ok guys, had a conversation with my wife this morning that got my blood boiling. I think I need some blood pressure meds right now. Anyhow, so last Friday night, my 9 yo daughter was invited to a sleep over with some friends from her dance studio. They are all about the same age. The mother hosting the event is fairly involved in the dance studio functions. During the sleepover, the mover had a couple of girl friends over and they had some drinks and did jello shots. I know this because the dumbass posted it on facebook. Here's the bad part. They offered a jello shot to the girls. My daughter says MOST of them, including her didn't want one, but I'm just finding out about this incident this morning, and I'm ****ing livid. I went on her facebook, but decided I didn't want to piss my wife off and make my life hell, so I didn't try to "friend" her or message her in any way. My wife insists that she is going to talk to the dance studio about it, but is asking for me to not get involved. This is the type of behavior that turns little girls into pole dancing sluts. It's a dance drama think. I'd end up having to confront many women at the studio. that reminds me of the Duvall line:

This is a dad's main job. Tell them you will sue them into oblivion if they give alcohol to a minor. Threats of physical violence do well to.

Mom's are sweet. Mad mom's are effective. This is a dad's job. Give them hell. Wife will be mad at you but not for long. Not for being strong and dealing with someone trying to corrupt your baby.

Letting your wife handle it depends on her personality - no? My wife is confrontational and unwilling to compromise. She is impossible to negotiate with. So I handled issues that required diplomacy in our family. Some wives look for the "everybody wins" solution. Some want to pick a fight. You must decide on the outcome that you prefer and create a plan to get there. Consider how it could all end up...

When I was a kid my parents were steadfast in not allowing sleepovers at all.

I hated it at the time but I fully plan on doing the same with my kids.

My dad's theory was nothing positive can happen at a sleepover that outweighs the negative that can happen when you let your children operate under someone else's rules for the night.

You no longer have control on what they watch, what they do, etc. You're now allowing someone else's morals to set the rules and frankly there are just too many idiots out there for my taste.

Of course it's easy to say as a single guy. :/
