On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was killed by an assassin's bullets as his motorcade wound through Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was the youngest man elected President; he was the youngest to die....

Just wanted to post in memory of JFK.

I was only three months old when JFK was shot, but I've always found the stories people tell about where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news interesting.

Well, you didn't see the President's head actually get blown off on TV that day. It wasn't ever seen until the Zapruder film went public many years later. That is why the film was so shocking. The world had never seen the actual head shot footage publicly before then.

I remember seeing him slump over when he got hit. Found out later it was a throat then head shot.

He said he was in gym class, and the teacher came in crying, 'The President has been shot!!'

he said they all got sent home, and school was closed down. he was home watching TV when Ruby shot Oswald, said he saw that happen live.

Garfield was only president for four months when he was shot. JFK had been President for almost three years.

Medical malpractice had a lot to do with Garfield's eventual lapse and death from infection. He body was full of pus from the original wound, and from the doctors unsuccessfully trying to dig out the bullet. Still, the attending doctors sent the Senate a bill for $85,000 for their services after Garfield died. The Senate paid them $10,000.

I was in 6th grade at Avondale elementary school in Avondale Arizona - directly next to GoodYear Arizona. My Old man was a Major at Luke Air Force Base. November 22 was probably the most surreal day in my life.

When the news came that JFK had been shot - they hustled all the kids outside for a quick recess - while the teachers got themselves "together". So there we are, all these kids scared and crying - remember, we practiced nuclear attacks in those days, and we didn't know what the hell was going on.

All of a sudden, out of the Good Year plant about 500 yards from us - the biggest damned zeppelin you ever saw starts rising over the horizon. Hell, most of us had never even see a zeppelin before. The damned thing lifts up and starts toward us. So here you are…being told that the "Russians had shot Kennedy" and we're mainly kids from military families and then this big assed zeppelin lifts off and heads right for us.

Hell, this was the kind of crap that "The Twighlight Zone" made episodes of…..

Yeah, Cosmo nailed it...zero is the right amount, but the Australian guy who is supporting the guy with the SS theory is the same guy who ballistically proved that there was another shooter on the County Records Building.

I've been through this so many times and there's been so much that can be discussed over and over, but the truth is that much of the evidence has been destroyed, mishandled, contaminated, etc. that we'll never know the full truth. But to keep pushing the notion that this was done by a single gunman? Puhlease.

Guiteau was a nutcase who insisted Garfield should have appointed him to be the ambassador to France among other things.
